The first blurb of the episode.

Jessie seems to have fallen in love with this doctor at first sight.

Has anyone noticed how every time a future episode will focus on the relationship between a Pokémon and their Trainer everyone immediately assume it will be leaving, for some reason?

...Anyway, I don't recall if there has been any episode completely focused on the bonds between Jessie and Wobbuffet during these... 15 years? I mean, what? This sounds awesome. Things couldn't get more interesting when a pure-comic relief character is given development.

Wobbuffet won't be leaving. Remember this?

There's also the poster for this year's Pikachu short that features Sonansu up there with everyone else.

I guess it's nice to get an ep focusing on Wobbuffet for the first time since like.... ages? Honestly ever since DP it felt like Wobbuffet is just... there... (maybe AG wasn't the best for it but it sure felt way more involved then it turned out to be during all of DP)
And then of course it wasn't in BW at all... yet they brought it back to XY only to continue treating it the same if not even worse than it got in DP. I really wonder why they even bothered bringing it back... but maybe this ep will give it at least one chance to shine in this series.
Also the title makes it pretty obvious this will be another one of these "pkmn gonna leave!!! ...except not really" similarly to the recent Inkay ep. I also bet Wynaut will appear here as some sort of ORAS tie-in... maybe it'll be the start of gen 3 spam in the anime? it's weird how we got nothing so far (except for like... Salamence appearing in the Wigglytuff ep if you wanna count that) while FRLG and HGSS brought a huge gen 1 and gen 2 pkmn spam in the anime around their release dates...

Nice! finally an episode focused on Wobbuffet since probably DP? I hope for a great ep.

There was no "spam" in FRLG's case. There was one episode about Professor Oak and the Kanto starters (which also included Birch and the Hoenn starters) more than two months after the games' release, which was followed by two episodes about May's Bulbasaur (the latter of which involved Ash's Bulbasaur).

Didn't AG in general tend to feature lots of gen 1 pkmn though? Especially since around the time May got her Bulbasaur... I can't remember if it was as heavy as the gen 2 spam we got in DP but it definitely was there. I guess they can still start doing it a bit too late this time, but I find it odd we didn't at least get an ep featuring the Hoenn starters by now... (pretty sure DP at least did it exactly in time for the HGSS release)

It might come by the time the gang goes back to Lumiose. It seems to be the city of commerce with foreign regions, so I would imagine another festival/festa/carnival of some kind would fly in promoting Hoenn. We might also meet the Treecko trainer from the opening?

Sigh. I do wish that Wobbuffet would leave for good in this episode, but since that won't happen, I pray that he and Jessie will get character development instead.

*sighs*....the obligatory TR fights and splits up episode of the season is here people.

Guessing Wobbuffet does something to fuck up their plans and James and Meowth tell Jessie they are sick of him and to get rid of him which causes Jessie to leave for 10 minutes then they make up and blah blah blah same old BS.

There's not even any development Wobbuffet can get since he can't learn any moves or evolve. Unless they get rid of his popping out of his ball gag, nothing of note is gonna happen for him here.

The only hope here is Inkay revealing his last move or Pumpkaboo evolving for anything noteworthy to happen here.

Well considering the last few episodes before this one have been development episodes why can't we have just one filler as it is hard for the writers to consistently write dev. episodes all the time.

People should be glad that we at least have a Jessie and Woubbefet focused episode after so long.

Because TR hasn't had a development episode which wasn't a pointless filler yet this region(no the capture episodes don't count as they really weren't even about them). TR doesn't get development episodes because there is NOTHING to develop. There goal is NEVER gonna be achieved so really any steps toward it are pointless, especially this region when they are back to the same old BS.

Hence, why this episode shouldn't matter anyway as it won't lead anywhere anyway. But it isn't the writers fault that TR is back to there same BS again as "Japan apparently loves them this way" and their VA's weren't comfortable with them being serious all of a sudden. In fact the writers and directirs had already planned TR to go back to their old ways before episode N was even announced thanks to the TR radio show night where the director told everyone that TR would go back to their old ways gradually.

There's a big difference between serious and competent. You can be serious and have a sense of humor and do some gags. They didn't gradually do anything. They are the same old tired characters except now they have new toys.
