Anime Tropes you hate

how in lieu of actual personality, female characters just get resigned to being infatuated with the male protag. especially if it never gets resolved. what's even the point? whenever I see it, I just groan and roll my eyes, which occurs often because one of the checkboxes shounen anime must hit is "pointless het romance." it's not particularly funny, and it doesn't add to the plot at all, who does this even cater to
