Rules Bulbagarden Forum Rules - *New set valid immediately*

]

7. Don't steal other people's fanworks, or their other creations (Plagiarism, 4 points, 2 months)
-If you post something you didn't create, credit the creator. If you don't know who, make sure to say so.

So this includes avatar/signatures right? Do I have to give credit to images in my signature ?

6. Don't ask for or provide illegal pokémon content (Copyright Violation, 4 points, 2 months)
-This includes emulators, roms, full episode downloads/streams and similar (short clips are allowed).
-This also include advertising or asking about fan-made games, illegal manga scans, or fansubs.

Is the discussion of them allowed, though?

Yes you can still discuss them. A debate about the ethics of them, or admitting to using a emulator or ROM is okay. You just cannot name/identify them or ask/help others in using them.

It doesn't include avatars and sigs, however if you do claim it to be yours in your sig and we find out otherwise, we will forcefully remove the image.

If we have relavent content to add to a thread we created, can we double post to add the new content?

Considering sockpuppeting is defined as being an online identity used for the purpose of deception, what's the harm in creating a second/third/etc account under the pretenses that malicious intent was not intended?

The problem is that its hard to keep track and if you're using several accounts simultaneously, you can start to disuse an account when it starts to rack up infractions and thus avoid a banning period with the others.

Unfortunately, there's just no easy way to share infractions over several accounts.

We will however continue to allow sockpuppets for specific events, such as Halloween.

But in such case, you're also alienating those who want to move to a new account with, like I said, non-malicious or disingenuous intentions, such as just wanting a fresh start.

If anyone would like to make a fresh start with a new account, they may get in contact with me and we can discuss if a new account would be suitable. Alternatively if there are other reasons they can discuss with me privately.

That's really the only time we'll allow it outside of special events. You cannot transfer infraction history from one account to the other and if a user does want to use another account, there's no reason any non-malicious reasons cannot be revealed to the staff in private. Likewise for any non-malicious reasons, we think said user would be able to understand why we may decline such a request if they're not a matter of urgency (eg "Just don't like my old account" is not a good enough reason).

Just wondering, if someone doesn't use an account for an amount of time(2+ years maybe?) can active members request a name change to that name? Because I've noticed that users take very good names and are only make one or two posts then leave, so it won't be fair to members who want to actually be active with the name.

Does iteru's avatar break rule 11?

11. Don't post porn or similarly shocking content (Graphic imagery, 10 points, 4 months)
-Shocking content include (as well as porn) gore, scat, and shock pictures.

I hope that it is against the rules to have pics of that sort.

Sadly no. :( If an account has taken a username then no one else can use that name until the member switches away from it.

His avatar is fine, actually. A regular image of a girl in a swimsuit is allowed so long as it isn't revealing too much, haha. No worries!

What if the account hasn't done anything at all and has existed for 2+ years?

The username will still be taken by an account regardless of how long it's been inactive. So unless an admin were to wipe/rename the account or the user were to log on and change to a new name, no one else would be able to use it. :x I don't really like that myself, honestly.

I might not hope to get into a bad situation for posting pics of chronicled, tasteful, gems. Use an ability to think and you'll be fine. I frequently imagine that every one of the aforementioned avatars of anime characters flaunting outrageously immense breasts is borderline explicit so the guidelines are a touch cloudy for me.

That's probably best to bring up with the administrators as they're ultimately in charge of structuring the forum rules. But if I may.. someone in a swimming suit with cleavage isn't exactly something that would usually be considered explicit. You probably wouldn't go to the beach and consider a girl with larger-sized breasts in a bikini "explicit" as most of those "sensitive" parts are being covered; it's just the general consensus of how things are.

But perhaps we can make some minor edits so it's clearer for those who have different viewpoints. @Iteru;

As long as there is no nudity/it's not in a sexual situation, it's fine. But clarifying this is something we can work on if needed.

If anyone has a question as to whether or not something is appropriate, you can always ask a staff member, too.

Hey, I have a question. Am I allowed to post a discussion about Religion in the Pokemon Verse? I know religion is a controversial topic for almost any forum, but It's something I really want to do. It's not anything denouncing religion, or any religious persons, it's just a discussion about how it would work in the Pokemon verse.

So long as it's not derogatory, you should be all right. There have been Pokemon religion topics in the past such as this one and things went all right there.

Hey, I know we don't want people spamming the forums and I don't want to be doing it either, so how would I go about promoting my Pokemon podcast to people who I think would be interested? It focuses a lot on the games so I would want to really get to those on the the X & Y forums but don't want to be a bother to anyone. Thanks for the help.
