Do you find it difficult to relate to most people??

It’s weird cause there are exactly three people who will listen and engage with my Taylor swift talk, (half my class just says “Taylor swift sucks” every time we bring it up while they’re anywhere close to us, at least I’m not hated for it like one of my friends is…), and honestly sometimes I feel like my interests are too mainstream for some people and not mainstream enough for others??? It’s so weird…

Relating to some of my friends in terms of crushes and relationships is weird, cause I don’t like anyone and I never have, so it’s weird when they talk about their crushes (I end up teasing them about it either willingly or not hehe… and it’s fun cause they can’t do it back…hehehehehe)

in person i can be extremely socially awkward while online i feel way more expressive and free, allowing me to appear a lot more extroverted

Same XD, i would never randomly show up in a group of strangers and start talking, like i do in this forum

I'm also on the Spectrum and generally have a hard time relating to others. However, I feel fortunate to be a Highly Sensitive Person with a natural ability to empathize with others to a sometimes-problematic extent—I remember breaking down and crying when I was ten or so because the teacher had singled out my friend lol—and so I generally have little difficulty understanding others, at least on an emotional level.

It's a blessing and a curse lol.
