Little Town of Salem - Endgame (SK WIN) - 15/2/2017

Status
Not open for further replies.
Night 2 start

CheffOfGames was killed by the Serial Killer. He was the Escort
Dear CheffOfGames, you are the Escort

Each night you can select someone and roleblock them; it will also stop Serial Killer kill selection but the Serial Killer will still attack you and everyone else who visited them.

Good luck!
We found a Laxt Will next to his body
Apparently, I have died already.
Everybody success with the rest of the game.
I had contact with SoaringDylan over our roles and a strategy to win.
I had contact with Lone_Garurumon about possible reads.

The target I had night one was Lone_Garurumon and because I wasn't killed by the Serial Killer I can confirm that he isn't the Serial Killer.
If I die this night because of my own action, I had Pikochu as my target.
It is now Day 3. It will last 48 hours (-15 minutes) unless HYPER-MAJORITY occurs.
With 6 players alive, 4 votes are needed for HYPER-MAJORITY.

Night 3 start

HYPER-MAJORITY has been achieved

DAY 3 VOTE COUNT - FINAL
Pikochu IV (Elementar, Lone_Garurumon, Kyriaki, Hellcrow)

Pikochu was lynched. He was the Doctor
Dear Pikochu, you are the Doctor

Each night phase you can select someone to protect. Not all forms of kills can be stopped by you, and you can also not protect a revealed Mayor

Good luck!
We found a Last Will next to his body
Pikachu the Doctorchu
n1: Dylan

It is now Night 3, it will last 24 hours (+24 minutes) unless all night actions are sent early.
NO NIGHT TALKING ALLOWED IN-THREAD.

Endgame! Kyriaki the Survivor wins!

Soaringdylan, the Executioner on Lone_Garurumon (turned Jester) has lost the game.
Elementar the Jester has lost the game.

More coming soon!
.....Ahahahahagoddamnit

As I thought, Hellcrow the SK and Elementar the Jester.
Oh well, it was a fun game altogether.

Hellcrow's Death Note for today said just "I've won".
Lone_Garurumon had a lengthy last will:
If you're reading this, then, well, I'm dead. As you can also see from the Death Message, I was the Medium.

In the graveyard chat, ChefOfGames said that Soaringdylan wasn't SK. Chef also claims that Dylan thinks Hellcrow is scummy (but we've seen that already), but also says that Dylan thinks Elementar isn't Town either. We've also speculated one might be Jester as well. Hellcrow is more obviously lying, this is either an SK cover that fell through, or intentionally scummy Jester playing.

Also, if you'll notice, Hellcrow claimed Vig, whereas Flop was our Town Killing Role (Veteran), and Chef was our Random Town Role (Escort). This means that Hellcrow's Vig claim couldn't possibly exist in this game. Meaning a lie. So either Hellcrow is the SK trying to defend themselves, or the Jester trying to get themselves lynched.

Should I end up dying tonight (N3), I intended to try and push the two of them (Hellcrow or Elementar) to get a better read on the situation, and hopefully weed out the SK. Hopefully someone will take up my quest should I die tonight.

That is all I know at this time, I look forward to seeing one of you in a later night ;)

-Lone_Garurumon

I was a bit confused over whether the game should've ended here or keep going with Survivor, 2 Jesters and Serial Killer. I tried to figure it out by reading this article: Victory . According to it, Serial Killer and Town are the factions of the game so the complete elimination of the one results in immediate win and endgame for the other, unlike my prior(false) belief that SK had to kill everyone but Survivor. Town of Salem doesn't work that way.

Speaking of which, Town of Salem has no modkills (instead players may report other players for gamethrowing in endgame) or subs (if you leave the game you die and it counts as a loss). Gamethrowing is report-worthy, but revealing your role PM (which counts just as "metagaming" there) is completely OK; although my game rules banned it. In any case, I didn't consider gamethrowing as a modkillable offense for this game. Or even thought of "modkillable offense" as a thing.

Nonetheless, if I were playing this game, I would report @Soaringdylan and maybe (quite unsure on this) @CheffOfGames for gamethrowing (basically playing against wincon). Dylan seemed much more focused on helping town win than lynching Lone_Garurumon all game. First thing he did, claiming Executioner to Cheff alongside his target (which had to be town). Cheff never revealed this info and even seemed like wanting to help Dylan win early on (which can be considered pro-town solely because Dylan may side with the town afterwards with Lone's death, as a Medium, wasn't too much of a setback)... but he still didn't reveal anything to town or to Lone_Garurumon who he could trust. As for Dylan, he figured Hellcrow out as a Serial Killer and actively tried to lynch him even though it would result in a game end before he were to achieve his wincon! Oh, and he could've gone for Lone_Garurumon instead of Doctor Floptopus Day 1 and just win. I would like to hear an explanation on these.

Add to it all that Flop/Calvin never confirmed in-thread, Elementar was actually inactive to the point it could've been deduced he's not SK and Pikochu was quickhammered before even getting a chance to claim, and this sure made for a really strange game. Kyriaki/Hellcrow played well and won.
I considered intervening more and would do so if this were regular mafia, but in the nature of Town of Salem I tried not to and things settled down in a fair way anyway, as even Dylan's actions could just make him miss his wincon while not really helping town, as evident by the SK win.

Endgame questions:
Did you enjoy the game?
What did you think of the setup and its balance?
If you would like to change a single thing in this game, what would it be?
Would you participate in another Town of Salem-like game in the future?

If the answer to the above is yes, there are 3 more questions:
1) Would you want the host to intervene more on matters like subs/modkills (like the nature of mafia) or less (like the nature of the automated ToS)?
2) Which setup would you like to see? (Out of Classic, Ranked, Custom, All Any, Rainbow and Vigilantics)
3) Would you be interested in a Bulbagarden Game Night/The War Room cross-event of game nights in the actual Town of Salem site?

The reason why Dylan didn't go for Lone_Garurumon on D1 was because he placed his vote on Doctor Floptopus to convince him to play and was planning on switching votes later on, but that plan (in which I would've helped him so Town would get an ally) was not able to continue because of RL time problems.
Aside from that, as we both started the game, Dylan and I agreed to share as much info as possible with each other during the game but we didn't show each other our Role PMs.

As for the questions:
I did enjoy the game, it was a shame that Pikochu died so fast which was due to me dying and having targeted him that night, which made the game a lot shorter than planned.
I would maybe change the medium to cop so that there would be more communication between players and to even the game give the SK an ally.
I would love to join another ToS game in the future because the rules and roles are very clear and if you don't understand a rule you can search it on internet.
1) I would like the host to intervene more.
2) I do not know enough about these game setups to give a good reason why I would prefer one over the other.
3) I would love to see that, if such a thing happens, please mention me and I'll try to join.

Overall was this a fun and exciting game in which a lot happened.
Just as always you were a good host @Zexy

The only true allies you can give to an SK are a fellow SK or a Witch. I considered the latter but thought it could've been OP.

As for the host intervening more. I'd have just PM'd Dylan/Cheff to make sure if they're playing against wincon or not, nothing too serious.

As CoG pointed out, the plan was to lynch Lone_Garurumon on D1 with a last minute vote change on both sides, where then I'd help CoG get his win condition by defeating the Serial Killer,
however the last minute vote change couldn't happen and thus the plan wasn't executed, as Lone_Garurumon was in no way shape or form lynchable D2 and because of this I, out of safety concerns for my own life, didn't persue to lynch him, hoping that he would die by the SK, making me a Jester and then actively trying to get town to lynch me.

Did you enjoy the game?, What did you think of the setup and its balance? & If you would like to change a single thing in this game, what would it be?
The game was enjoyable surely, but I would say that having 3 indep, 5 town and 1 evil team wasn't something I actively enjoyed, in a small game like this I personally would not put in more then 2 indep.
Would you participate in another Town of Salem-like game in the future?
I would, I like the idea on how the conversations in this work.
If the answer to the above is yes, there are 3 more questions:
1) Would you want the host to intervene more on matters like subs/modkills (like the nature of mafia) or less (like the nature of the automated ToS)?
Subs should be intervened on, even if the game is ToS themed.
2) Which setup would you like to see? (Out of Classic, Ranked, Custom, All Any, Rainbow and Vigilantics)
I do not actively play ToS and because of this can not pick between these options. Although I did point out that I prefer a different balance faction wise above.
3) Would you be interested in a Bulbagarden Game Night/The War Room cross-event of game nights in the actual Town of Salem site?
Surely, however since I am in EU time zone most likely I will not be able to join such an event as real time events are usually more US-Friendly. However, in the case of it being EU friendly I'd surely join.

I'll answer the questions when I get the chance. Anyway, GG to the SK and thanks to @Zexy for being a great host (as usual).

I don't like Jester. I don't think I actually played to my wincon at all.
I have to apologize, I was planning to be able to let you win and didn't expect it to end right there.

And naturally my mis-counting cost us the game. Not gonna lie, totally my fault. I miscounted the votes D1 and thought Hellcrow would get lynched. Sorry guys, completely my fault. Wow I was really the last town though? Damn...

Did you enjoy the game?

It was... Interesting. It was different to the two actual Mafia games I've played and that was nice. I'm a little annoyed that I cost us the game but, what're ya gonna do?
What did you think of the setup and its balance?
The setup didn't seem too bad, maybe one too many indeps though, Town went down pretty dang fast (granted literally every single kill was Town).
If you would like to change a single thing in this game, what would it be?
Maybe one less indep.
Would you participate in another Town of Salem-like game in the future?
It seems interesting. I was a little put off by how all the OC was working and stuff, but now that I've had some experience with it I'd be up for another game.
If the answer to the above is yes, there are 3 more questions:
1) Would you want the host to intervene more on matters like subs/modkills (like the nature of mafia) or less (like the nature of the automated ToS)?
Well, subs should always be a thing, no matter what. Whether modkills come up is probably more down to the host's decision than anything else.
2) Which setup would you like to see? (Out of Classic, Ranked, Custom, All Any, Rainbow and Vigilantics)
I do not have any real knowledge of ToS and so cannot answer this question
3) Would you be interested in a Bulbagarden Game Night/The War Room cross-event of game nights in the actual Town of Salem site?
IT HAS A WEBSITE!?

Did you enjoy the game?
Yes, I did.

What did you think of the setup and its balance?
I never played a Town of Salem game before, so I don't know.

If you would like to change a single thing in this game, what would it be?
Maybe have just one indep or so?

Would you participate in another Town of Salem-like game in the future?
Sure.

If the answer to the above is yes, there are 3 more questions:
1) Would you want the host to intervene more on matters like subs/modkills (like the nature of mafia) or less (like the nature of the automated ToS)?

More would be better.

2) Which setup would you like to see? (Out of Classic, Ranked, Custom, All Any, Rainbow and Vigilantics)
Rainbow and vigilantics sounds interesting

3) Would you be interested in a Bulbagarden Game Night/The War Room cross-event of game nights in the actual Town of Salem site?
There's an actual site? A cross-event would be fun. (including something pokemon-themed)
