Maybe we'll use the sundial of Anistar and a new moondial of Alola to transport between Kalos and Alola?
A moondial isn't really a thing. Sundials are like early clocks, the shadow cast by the point serves as the hour hand. The moon doesn't give off a consistent source of light like the sun, it wouldn't be able to serve the same function.

Didn't stop were-Cats in Scooby-Doo :p Or Wikipedia for that matter

I hope the Sinnoh remakes would be available on the 3DS. I would rather wait for Gen VIII to buy a Switch.
Maybe Game Freak can make the remakes work on both the 3DS and the Switch.

I don't see this happening. Considering Pokémon Sun and Moon already pushed the limits of the 3DS, there really isn't much else the 3DS can offer the Pokémon games now. Plus, Gamefreak would have to create the Sinnoh remake for Switch, and then severely lower the amount of quality and content of it just to include it onto the 3DS as well. That seems pointless. Gamefreak will be much better off developing the title for one console, not two different ones (preferably Switch, the superior console).

An NPC in Anistar City mentions moondials. So it could be possible.

Something occurred to me....this has probably been discussed before but I guess no harm in discussing it again.

If Stars turns out to be a Sun & Moon sequel, who do you think the Champion will be? I'm guessing it's not likely that it'll be our player character (although they have made changes to later games based on a previous save file before in gen 5) so it makes me wonder who the champion will end up being.

It would probably make the most sense if one of the current challengers ends up being the champion, but out of them I could only really see Hau, Gladion (as rival characters) and Ryuki (as a mysterious character we know nothing about) being the most likely to be champion. The other challengers would seem really random.

I could see Guzma as the champion though. It would certainly be interesting.

"Champion Lillie wants to battle!"

Aurora Veil Ninetales team would also give us a true Ice-type specialist for Alola.

NGL Id like it to be Guzma for the twist.
Don't give ideas to the writers of the anime.

But the problem would be the sells. Remakes sell less, and this one would require buying a new expensive device.
That would be like Microsoft creating a Windows 8.2 and making it work only on new computers.

Again, the goal with switching consoles with Stars is selling Switches. Something that Nintendo needs to happen, since they're putting their eggs in one basket here.

The first character I thought of as a the new champion is 'Hau' for some reason.
If they change the Elite Four, having Faba and Plumeria there might be interesting.

Dosne't it feel a little too early for a Pokemon-related announcement?

Absolutely. We didn't even get the first hint of Gen VII until Feb 2016.

I think Nintendo would want to ride the Sun/Moon wave a bit longer before making any more announcements, plus the 1.1 patch just came out.

I honestly don't think we'll get a Stars announcement any earlier than May. Maybe late April, but even that's pushing it. It's not going to be a initial set of games (unless it's them jumping straight to gen 8 which I doubt) so they'll need less months to hype it up.Plus they still stand to profit off of SuMo. They won't take sale away from a game they only released 2 months ago just to have people wait for a game not coming out until fall.

I think so too. We haven't even got distribution of Marshadow yet!

It would have probably been less a problem if Switch was released before Sun and Moon and the latter worked in it.
Remakes and third versions won't motivate people to buy a new device as much as a new game.

That isn't a problem at all. You are correct in saying that Remakes sell less, but that has always been true no matter what system they have been on. Releasing the game on two consoles won't change that. Plus, the fact that Gamefreak would have to massively downgrade the 3DS version just to fit it onto the console, that it may as well be two seperate games to begin with, and not the same game on two consoles.

The 3DS cannot offer the Pokemon franchise anything else that Sun and Moon did. They already removed features from SM, and if they add a third version to the 3DS, they would have to remove more features just to add more in. There is no benefit for another Pokémon game to be on 3DS, especially a third version if it can't be improved over SM.

This is why I never understood Nintendo releasing smash bros on 3ds 1st

What do you guys think they should make of the Sinnoh games?
Could they make a remake for each device?
Or could they make the remakes for Switch but re-release the original Sinnoh games with an update that allows Pokémon Transfer? That could help with sales.
