Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's has a lot of wild and whacky stuff in it. In no particular order:

• Large reactor meltdown that causes robots to almost genocide humanity
• Time travel on motorcycles
• Card games on motorcycles
• Escaping a black hole on motorcycles
• Evil guys who use the power of Nazca lines
• Classism where lots of people live in the slums
• Worshiping a celebrity that was formerly from the slums but no one knows this
• The main protagonist being in love with his motorcycle more than the female lead
• A voice actress who was in a cult

This is of course entirely unrelated to the psychic cult that was actually in the show, of which female lead Akiza was a member of.

It wasn't discovered she was part of the cult until much later. People speculate that her involvement with the cult was why they largely wrote out Carly from Season 2, but it wasn't yet discovered by that point.
