Ah, I remember that. Man I miss Rush. Can't find the game card anywhere.

Also does anyone else laugh at the way the singer pronounces "new day", and honestly pretty much anything else in the song?

Sonic Rush was fun, I kind of preferred Rush Adventure over the two though.

Yeah, it's a pretty cheesy song but I like it, there's something about it that just makes me feel happy when I hear it, I always liked to race the Seaside Hill tracks on Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing to this tune :)

I played sonic adventure 1, I found it really underwhelming and it killed any interest I had in the franchise

though for some reason, a long time ago I used to have this weird gay obsession with amy rose. I'm not even a furry, so I am not quite sure what was happening there.

I never really played any Sonic games.

Sonic games are kind of a mixed bag generally, you'll never really get the same opinions from any two sonic fans. I'm a big fan of the Classic and Adventure games myself but find the Modern era kind of average.

Sonic Adventure's probably my favourite Sonic game but different opinions, the one thing I often think about SA1 though is it get's a bad rap becase a lot of people have only played the DX port which is pretty flawed. The original Dreamcast version of the game is much less glitchy and far more stable.

No, most of the criticism I hear is "Oh my god Knuckles levels why? Big levels why? Etc."

The Knuckles, Amy and Big stages are bad but I mostly play for the Sonic levels, except Casinopolis and Sky Deck, I hate those stages :D

Generally though Sonic's good stages in SA1 are my favorite style of Sonic gameplay, I'd love to see a game based solely on that gameplay stayle.

I'd actually like to see (warning incoming heresy) some kind of Lost World/Boost Format hybrid. Honestly I think the parkour system was a great idea, it was just held down by shoddy level design and a criminally slow Sonic. A certain YouTube video I'll see if I can find actually sums up a good idea that I think works pretty well. Basically it's summed up as such (to enforce the impression of Sonic's physical prowess he should move through a level completely under his own power (cut out boost pads, and have him change direction by swinging on vertical poles) and I feel like the parkuor system just works, it could make some fun high speed levels if used properly.

EDIT: ah here it is

It's like 30 minutes long, but it makes a few good points that I think could really work.

Lost World as a game didn't bother me too much despite it's slowness, it's mechanics and gameplay were more clunky than glitchy. I like some of the boost format stuff but I find it's too obsessed with speed and provides little with regards to control and platforming. A hybrid of the two would be interesting to see if it helps to correct both their flaws.

My idea of an ideal 3D Sonic game would be SA2 Sonic/Shadow gameplay with SA1/Heroes Level Design.

Do you guys ever sleep :dazwa: *is only posting because I had a late night unexpected "alarm clock" go off (aka my brother having potential food poisoning)
