Following on from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's update to Version 3.0.0 last week alongside the release of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Mask, a Poké Portal News update has issued a rare acknowledgement for two bugs reported by players, along with a statement clarifying how these issues will be addressed.

The two bugs acknowledged in the update are as follows:

Known Bugs said:
  1. The game stops responding to button input if the player uses items to level up an Inkay to any level below Lv. 30.
If a player uses items, such as Rare Candies or Exp. Candies, to level up an Inkay to Lv. 29 or lower, the game stops responding to button input after the level-up message displays.
  2. Some materials needed to craft TM223 (Metal Sound) are dropped by a Pokémon that appears in only one version of the game.
Materials dropped by Shieldon are required to craft TM223 (Metal Sound). However, it isn’t possible to encounter Shieldon in Pokémon Scarlet.

Both of these bugs are planned to be addressed in the next update, Version 3.0.1. The update will be released at earliest in mid-January 2024, though the news post does leave open the possibility that it may drop later than this date.

As compensation for the issue regarding TM233 (Metal Sound), all players will be able to redeem a free gift of 10x TM233 (Metal Sound) via Mystery Gift. This gift will go live on December 26th, at 3:00am (UTC), and remain available until the release of Version 3.0.1. Players can receive this gift by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu in Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, and then selecting Mystery Gift, and then Get via Internet. Players will not require paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to receive this gift.
