Steven and Shauna in their Special Costumes, with Stoutland and Klefki
2023's Solve the Case! Costume event is returning to Pokémon Masters EX today, alongside a set of Costume Scouts featuring Costume Sync Pairs who originally made their debut in Parts 1 and 2 of the Solve the Case! event. Also launching today is the game's latest Ultimate Battle challenge, Ultimate Battle: Palmer's Rumbling Might.

Costume Event: Solve the Case! (Part 1)
In this event, a group of trainers are invited to participate as playtesters for a mystery game being hosted by Pasio's founder Lear. Playing the role of the Detective, Steven is challenged to uncover the culprit of a mysterious theft, together with his assistant Shauna. The event is available in-game now, and will be running until March 24th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Costume Event: Solve the Case! (Part 1) - Event Medals
By completing battles during this event, players can earn Event Voucher P items, which can be exchanged for a variety of valuable items, including 5★ Power-ups and Scout Tickets, a Support Move Candy Coin, and Song Key No. 00038, needed to unlock the song Fantastic Carnival in the in-game jukebox. Players can also obtain Gems for completing special missions during the event. Players can claim these rewards even if they have previously completed the event during the original run between March 31st and May 2nd, 2023.

As usual for events of this type, players will receive bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable sync pairs and reward rates are as follows:
These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Steven (Special Costume) & Stoutland, Shauna (Special Costume) & Klefki, and Looker & Croagunk, would grant a combined +160% (x2.6) rewards.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • The number of plays available for Daily Extreme Battle 1 are reset every day at 10:00pm (PST).
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
  • Leftover Event Voucher P items will be automatically converted to coins at a rate of 10 coins per item at the end of the event, and sent to players' Present Boxes

Costume Scouts

The Super Spotlight Costume Scout, Costume Tiered Scout, and Costume Featured Ticket Scout offer players an opportunity to scout the featured sync pairs from the Solve the Case! (Part 1) and Solve the Case! (Part 2) events.
More information about each of these sync pairs can be found via the Bulbapedia links above. Each of these Costume Sync Pairs only appear during Costume Sync Pair Scouts.

The Super Spotlight Costume Scout includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for x100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used up to 3 times per day during the entire length of the scout.

The Costume Tiered Scout has five tiers, each of which is a Sync Pair Scout ×11. Players are able to scout once on each tier by using Paid Gems, with the amount of gems increasing with each tier. Additionally, Tiers 2 through 5 grant the player additional in-game rewards.
  • Tier 1: 1,000 Paid Gems
  • Tier 2: 1,500 Paid Gems - 5★ Power-Ups ×3
  • Tier 3: 2,000 Paid Gems - 5★ Great Scout Ticket A, which can be used in the Costume Featured Ticket Scout.
  • Tier 4: 2,500 Paid Gems - 5★ Power-Ups ×7
  • Tier 5: 3,000 Paid Gems - Player's choice of 5★ Sync Pairs from those included in the scout
The Super Spotlight Costume Scout and Costume Tiered Scout will both run until March 24th at 10:59pm (PDT). The associated Ticket Scout meanwhile runs through to March 31st, at 10:59pm (PDT). All tickets must be used prior to this scout ending.

Ultimate Battle: Palmer's Rumbling Might

Ultimate Battle: Palmer's Rumbling Might is the latest piece of content to be added to the Challenge the Strong content area. To access this Ultimate Battle, select the Side Area from the main Explore Menu, and then select Challenge the Strong. Players successfully completing Ultimate Battle: Palmer's Rumbling Might will receive 300 Diamonds as a First-Time Reward.

Challenge the Strong battles follow the standard three-on-three battle format, but have the Ultimate difficulty level, which as the name suggests is a level of difficulty significantly above the difficulty of high level battles to date. These battles will require players to maximize the potential of their Sync Pairs, to have an excellent understanding of how to build their team for the best advantage, and understand the right time to use their moves in the most effective way.

To unlock Challenge the Strong and Ultimate difficulty battles, players must have completed the Champion Stadium Hard Lv. 1 for any region.
