The Old New War Room Game Schedule/Queue

Please add Mareep and Lycanroc Mafia to the small games queue.

It is going to be an auspice of the mentoring program. Completely vanilla, no roles at all, completely open. There is no player limit, though I doubt we'll pass the small game amount. 4:1 Town to mafia ratio for the balancing of it. It is planned to have a mentor watch over a student as they play and for each mentor student pair to have their own chat. This way the mentor can mentor them and help them as they play.

I'd like to raise the suggestion of a specialised mentor queue.
It's already being discussed. I've got a map out of some initial ideas an intiatives which we will be sharing once I've fleshed them out a bit more and we've discussed them to work out potential issues/feasibility.

I'd like to point out to everyone that wants to do easier / mentoring games. Purely vanilla / goon games are rather boring as shown from testing with the mafia quickplay discord bot. They're also very limited in the way someone interacts with them, therefore it's really hard to actually get stuff done.
I recommend having at least 1 investigative role in the game. Preferably more.

On that note, please add "Werewolf themed Mafia" to the queue. It will be semi-open and based on the basic setup for werewolf games and will feature the opportunity for mentoring.
(the game will use normal mafia names for roles for the mentoring) also [??] and small game queue.

I'd counter Dylan's post with: Vanilla games can help with forming pure reads. Which is something I know I need badly. I rely on powers far too much, so a game without powers would be an asset to me.

That said, players do need to learn how to handle and counter particular roles too, so some mentor games should be role madness.

If it's going to be a mentor game, why not special events?

Thing is, the mentoring program is mostly aimed at helping people learn how to play/host through simple games so they can be able to play/host more/better when it comes to the advanced games in TWR. Since we're not really going to get lots of vanilla games in TWR outside of the program it's not as important as learning the basics of particular roles, imo.

Perhaps, but that's not what I said. I didn't say we need to learn vanilla games... I said I can not physically make reads... The best I can do is compare someone's behaviour to their previous (What you and Mido call Meta). Vanilla games remove all distractions and all powers, and simply have the basic game laid bare... Which means your only powers are your reads, meta and your vote.

That is why I am convinced that vanilla mentor games are valuable.

I have an idea for a mentor game I'd like to host.

Lovers Mafia. The host and the player are lovers (may have additional roles), so they're bound together when playing. Thoughts on that?

Host and players are lovers? Aka when a player dies the host dies so everyone dies? I think you worded this poorly haha

Well my subject is role pm writing, which doesn't work as well with only 2 potential role PMs
So if anything my mentor game should be role based but no theme and open setup

It has been a while, but it is finally time for the game you all have been waiting for!
We'd like to announce that WE vs ME Mafia [19P] will be added to the special event game queue today! Hosted by none more then Soaringdylan & Zexy. With guest appearance from Maniacal Engineer!
