You know, I think I just realized that I like all of the Water starters. Not equally, mind you, but there aren't any I dislike like I do with Meganium, and I don't find any overrated like I do with Charizard. Plus, you know, my absolute favorite is a Water starter. It's weird, since I traditionally go with Grass. The only gen where my choice in my first playthrough was Fire was Gen III.

This list is pretty god damn accurate, I agree with it 100%. Water being in the top is me in a nutshell, I love Water types.

Blastoise and Empoleon in the top 2 is so true, I love these guys. Blastoise, my original starter from back in the old day, and Empoleon from my favorite generation. Gen V taught me to love Samurott as well, so he's definitely in top 3. 4-7 speaks the truth (Charizard hate got nothing on me), 8-16 is kind of a muddled group of starters I think look fine but aren't anything special to me, and 17-18 deserve their place as the last two (I dislike their designs a lot).

Well, this seems pretty accurate. Don't think I'll make many friends with my choice of the bottom three, haha. The top three are certainly accurate, though. Torterra was my first starter. Of the new three, Decidueye would likely be in the mid-top while the other two in the mid-bottom, although this might change as I get used to them more.
