Like, our main trio (Liko, Roy, Dot), don't need an Eevee though.
Pikachu is the mascot, but not on any of their teams and it isn't an issue either, taking into consideration that Captain Pikachu and its trainer are still recurring characters either way, so even if Eevee joins the cast, it...
I wonder if they are going to follow-up on Jacq mentioning in the game when you get an egg, that people send their eggs to the school when they cannot care for it, so they give it to a promising trainer. If so... i wonder who will get the egg. My bets on Liko.
It can learn Spikes/Toxic Spikes by TM.
However, we also know the anime kinda takes liberties in how a move looks compared to the games, since in the anime, the moves often look different/flashier than in the games, so maybe it learns Grass Knot.
While the idea is nice, i don't think it will ever happen, since Mega Evolution means Pokemon are tapping into a power beyond their usual capabilities, which middle stages technically already do when they evolve further into their last stage.
Honestly, i am a fool. Dracovish is my favorite gen 8 mon and i totally forgot Ash already has one.
Just like others, i am going to give my reasonings for Ash owning them
Inteleon > Fits Ash the best, since he usually gets a starter that is really timid or has a backstory. As such, Sobble line...
Well... assuming they wanted Ash to round out his roster with all types, he would probably get more than six
Pikachu
Sobble > Drizzle > Inteleon
Grookey > Thwacky > Rillaboom
Galar Farfetch'd > Sirfetch'd
Impidimp > Morgrem > Grimmsnarl
Mr Rime
Copperajah > G-Max
Dragapult
Fuecoco might not even evolve though, due to it being way more popular (And as such way more marketable) than Skeledirge, this unlike Sprigatitto, who is not the most popular stage of its line (That is Meowscarada).
