While Shérine Seyad doesn't voice Horizons Iono (she does voice her Paldean Winds' counterpart), she voices Sango, making her the 2nd Pokémon character she shares with Ikue Ōtani, the 1st one being Sawyer.
In HZ008, both in the English and French-language dubs, Amethio is referred as a "young man", instead of a "young boy" in Japanese. Does that mean TPCi lifted his age (about the French-language dub, I already said that he was called a man by Liko) from teenager to young adult?
We have other characters who have their VAs recognized in the French-language dub:
Roy’s grandfather is voiced by Benoît Van Dorslaer.
Hamber is voiced by Bruno Georis.
Gibeon is voiced by Nicolas Matthys.
Spinel is voiced by Maxym Anciaux.
Roy’s Rotom Phone is voiced by Ludivine Deworst, who...
It's hard to say if Nidothing goes by he/him or by they/them. But the pronouns are definitely not she/her, as Nidothing used a qualificative adjective without making it feminine.
Sorry, triple post, but there are new informations.
Apparently, Roy isn't voiced by Circé Lethem, but by Julia Kaye.
Nidothing (Dot’s online persona)’s pronouns aren’t she/her.
Sorry for the double post, but we have updates about the French-language dub:
Amethio is voiced by Damien Locqueneux.
At least 3 SM VAs come back: Arnaud Crèvecoeur (Kukui) voices Murdock, Ludivine Deworst (Mallow) voices Dot, and Alain Eloy (Guzma) voices Zirc.
Orla is voiced by Nancy...
French Channel Canal J has a trailer in which Liko, Diana, Amethio and Friede talk. Delmotte isn’t Amethio’s French-language VA. We’ll know better about who voices him on Saturday.
The voice cast hasn’t been announced yet, I just did a voice recognition (hence the "seems" about Amethio).
Fun fact: Liko shares the same seiyuu and French-language VA with Regina, and Roy does the same with Chad.
Sorry for the double post, but Horizons' trailer has been dropped in the French language. Sophia Atman is Liko, Circé Lethem is Roy, Pierre Lognay (who already voiced Cerise) is Friede, while Amethio seems to be voiced by Thibaut Delmotte, who already voiced Clemont...
When it comes to Pokémon voices, it turns out that the pre-BW era was a bit complicated.
OS
Originally, there were Jean-Marc Delhausse, Daniel Nicodème, Benoît Van Dorslaer, Lydia Cherton, Guylaine Gibert and Véronique Fyon. In some pre-Johto episodes, Delhausse didn't voice any Pokémon (in...
It turns out that the European French Max case is complicated. It seems that Guylaine Gibert is actually his main VA, with Maia Baran being the substitute. Baran at least voiced Max in some early Season 8 episodes.
Back in 2016, Maia Baran, whose most famous Pokémon character is May, revealed that she was also Max's voice actress. The thing is, we've been told during years through the Internet that he was voiced by Guylaine Gibert. Actually, it turns out that, while Gibert may have voiced Max, Baran was...
It turns out that, fortunately, Episodes on Netflix don't have that PAL Speedup thing. Because when I watched The Arceus Chronicles, I wondered why Ash sounded like the way he did back in XY, or Goh didn't have that much of a high-pitched voice. It's only on TV channels and Replay services that...
I've conversed with people who watched modern Episodes (eg. since SM) in the French localization, and we talked about how those ones are aired with PAL Speedup, no matter if it's on a TV channel or a Replay service.
For those who don't know what PAL Speedup is, it's the fact that the Episodes...
Their names were added in the main cast with Season 19, as they weren’t credited the previous Season. French credits are frozen from each Season Premiere to the Finale. Also, due to being newcomers as Pokémon voices, they were credited below Team Rocket’s voice actors instead of just above them.
I want to add things about the French localization: It turns out that Grégory Praet and Elisabeth Guinand did not begin voicing Pokémon with Season 20. Actually, they were already voicing some of them in Season 19. It's very likely that they both started it from the second half of Season 18. So...
The French-language dub gave a female gender to some of Masters Eight Trainers' Pokémon: Lance's Hydreigon, Iris' Dragonite (which contradicts BW where it's stated it's male), Cynthia's Gastrodon and Milotic and Steven's Cradily. However, Cynthia's Garchomp is gendered as male even though it's...
I have seen throughout the Wiki pages that a given Pokémon is female in the Brazilian Portugese dub. The thing is, it’s the same thing for the European French one, and I’m sure it’s the same thing for all the main (I don’t know about the Romanian one) Romance dubs, maybe except for the Latin...
In French, before Season 12, names and moves were different from the games. For example, in Season 9, Gary's Electivire was called its English name as opposed to Elekable, and same for Chatot (as opposed to Pijako). During Season 11, apparently, the writing staff kept changing, hence why Team...
