    They're probably hiding its Gigantamax.

Nah. Leon just figured he's strong enough that even such a disadvantage wouldn't bother him too much. And to be honest, without Eternatus appearing, he likely would've had a fairly easy win.

Reddit is a place where it's wise to not take anything (or at least most) of the stuff you see there at face value.

Forgot about those. I'd still think Ash did technically beat Wattson, and Ash tried to return the Badge after what he felt was an unfair win, which is more than what can be said about many of those Kanto Badges, but Wattson allowed him to keep it. And Maylene I legitimately forgot about...

True. He's even defeated every Gym Leader he's battled against, excluding only Cress (not required to rematch since beating Cilan and Chili was enough), Cheren (unofficial battle), and Opal (unofficial battle). Elite Four members and Champions were an exception before Journeys, as defeating them...

Leon could temporarily recall Charizard and have Cinderace fight a Gigantamax battle with Pikachu, before Pikachu and Charizard finish the battle.

He still has a perfectly plausible shot at winning, especially if the Pika Papow theory holds up.

Yeah. They clearly showed something that implies Dynamax Band recharge, but no Dynamaxing. Could easily be them hiding the Gigantamax battle.

Yeah. That's my theory too. Also, Cinderace was the only Pokémon Hop gave a description of when it entered the battle, describing it as "the Strongest Striker".

Not necessarily. There's not much for Journeys characters to do in Gen IX.

Interesting. Still gotta wonder what role will Cinderace play.

That number was removed later, but it could easily be because it was an accidental spoiler.

We don't yet know what the next series will be like. I hadn't even considered the "partner" bit referring to the Let's Go partner Pokémon. Would make sense. Plus, as a bonus fact, Ash's Pikachu is actually classified as a partner Pikachu in Pokémon Masters EX.

I personally assume there's at least one transition episode after the battle, which would put the start of the new series to somewhere in December.

I think it's an assumption. I've heard nothing besides the fact that there is a one-week break after this episode.
