It was still largely done for them to gain residual checks. A shame the Japanese side of the other dubs didn't enforce them to keep SOME Japanese music at least ala the shopro/viz media way of dub music handling.

So the later TPCi dub music isn't even good on its own?

People misrepresented the whole 4kids erase all text, it's in varying degrees.

Who knows exactly cause one comic con has Eric Stuart saying the cards are blank so they don't confuse international audiences so they made all the cards look generic without text. Remember the dub still kept a scene of yugioh and co opening booster packs.
