I'm fine with only Gen I Pokemon getting Alola forms for now; a lot of them needed updating anyway. Gens II-IV can wait until the second half of Gen VII and later. (It's too early for V and VI)
On A-Raichu's move set, I wouldn't get too concerned. Several Pokemon that evolve with Stones can still learn moves through leveling up (Bellossom and Honchkrow, to name a few). The same can just be applied to Raichu.
I'm interested in what A-Raichu's stat distribution will be. I would assume a lower attack and higher special attack, but that would cripple Volt Tackle. A-Meowth keeping its regular abilities has me thinking has me thinking there won't be much of a reshuffle for it. Hopefully A-Persian at least...
Another idea (albeit much less likely) is Normal/Ghost. Persian strongly resembles a cougar, which is known as the "ghost cat" in parts of North America. Although, the bobcat and Canada lynx have also earned that nickname.
The Pichu line should gain the Fairy typing. I thought it should have happened in Gen VI, but now's GF's chance to correct it.
Also, Normal/Dark Meowth and Persian. That's long overdue.
The official site implies their stats will be different from the normal forms. I could see Sandslash being useful if it gets a defensive buff (Ice Shard spam, baby!).
So I guess GF is making biological rules for Pokemon? That's cool.
I was dead set on using Glaceon for my team, but A-Ninetales might have something to say about that.
