Archaic is the Webmaster of Bulbagarden, having operated the website since 2002. He has been a part of the online Pokémon fandom since 1999.
Outside of Pokémon, Archaic works as a marketing academic and consultant. He has lectured for courses on topics related to consumer behaviour, consumer culture, and marketing ethics. His academic research centers around the exploration of the antecedent factors for consumers' privacy protection and self-disclosure behaviours in social media.

This week, the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live will be receiving an update to Version 1.12.0 ahead of the release of Scarlet & Violet— Temporal Forces and the 2024 Standard Format rotation. Pokémon Sleep will enter a maintenance period this week on Thursday March 21st, ahead of a planned update of the software to Version 1.4.0. The next Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Scarlet & Violet Series, Twilight Masquerade, has finally been officially announced by The Pokémon Company International. This expansion, which launches internationally on May 24th, is expected to contain cards from the Japanese Crimson Haze expansion, and the newly announced Transformation Mask expansion, which launches in Japan on April 26th. It's not yet known if all of the cards from those sets will make it over to Scarlet & Violet—Twilight Masquerade internationally, or if some will only see release in later sets.

The special distribution of Pawmot which was announced for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet late last week has now commenced. This Pawmot, which is based on Nemona's Pawmot as seen in the music video of the YOASOBI song Biri-Biri, is being released to celebrate the song's physical CD & LP release in Japan. This distribution will remain available to redeem until February 28th next year.
