Niantic has announced full details of the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 that will be held on June 4th and June 5th. A Pokémon GO Fest 2022: Finale event will also be held on August 27th. Tickets for the event are available now. This year's event is all about Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokémon, which will be available to ticket holders only as a reward for completing special research.

To celebrate Golden Week in Japan, several events have now begun in Pokémon Café ReMix. Golden Week is the name given in Japan to the week from April 29th to May 6th, where four different public holidays, Shōwa Day (昭和の日, Shōwa no Hi), Constitution Memorial Day (憲法記念日, Kenpō Kinenbi), Greenery Day (みどりの日, Midori no Hi), and Children's Day (子供の日, Kodomo no Hi), occur in rapid succession.
The online animated series set in the Hisui region that was teased during the Pokémon Presents livestream on Pokémon Day 2022 has now been fully revealed. The new three-episode series animated series, titled, "Pokémon: Hisuian Snow", is slated to premiere on May 18, 2022, exclusively on the official Pokémon YouTube channel and Pokémon TV. The series is being produced by The Pokémon Company International in collaboration with WIT STUDIO, who previously worked on 2018's Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us in collaboration with OLM. Wit Studio is best known for producing the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, and has most recently been working on the incredibly popular Ranking of Kings, and this season's Spy × Family.
Niantic has made some updates to Mega Evolution in Pokémon GO that will make it easier and more rewarding than ever before. These changes are now live in Australia and New Zealand, and will be available globally soon. Mega Evolution is a special kind of Evolution that was first introduced in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games. It temporarily changes a Pokémon's appearance and increases its strength. In Pokémon GO, Trainers use Mega Energy to Mega Evolve their Pokémon. Not all Pokémon who are able to Mega Evolve in other Pokémon titles are currently eligible to Mega Evolve in Pokémon GO.
Due to an issue affecting the chances of encountering Shiny Exeggcute during the Limited Research Day: An Egg-citing Spring Surprise event originally held on April 16th for timezones between GMT +14 to GMT +5, Pokémon GO will be holding a make-up event on April 30th, from 11am to 2pm local time, for those timezones.
Niantic has announced that the Rock Pokémon, Alolan Geodude will be the featured Pokémon for May 2022's Pokémon GO Community Day. During this event, Alolan Geodude will be appearing more frequently in the wild, with its Shiny variant also being available. The event will be held on May 21st, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time. Note that this event will only involve Alolan Geodude and its evolution, and will not involve Kantonian Geodude.
The Global Challenge 2022 Spring Online Competition has been announced for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Registration has begun and will remain open until May 5th, at 4:59 p.m. (PDT). The competition itself will then take place from May 5th, at 5:00pm to May 9th, at 4:59pm (PDT).
A limited-time distribution of Dracovish was announced for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield during the 2022 Pokémon Europe International Championships Pokémon VGC Day 1 livestream. This Dracovish is based on the Dracovish used by Marc0fier0 to win the 2020 Pokémon Oceania International Championships. Players can redeem Dracovish using the code「EU1C2022G1FT」. This code can only be redeemed until April 25th, 2022.
The Pokémon Company International has announced the livestream commentators for the 2022 Pokémon Europe International Championships held this weekend from April 22th - 24th. The event will be broadcast live on the official Twitch accounts of The Pokémon Company International. Some of the world's best Pokémon Trainers will be competing in tournaments including the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games, Pokkén Tournament DX, and for the first time on Pokémon GO.
A trio of new additions comes to Pokémon Café ReMix this week, with the addition of a new Team Event based around Toucannon, a new Buizel focused pack being added to the in-game shop, and Pachirisu coming to Pelipper Delivery.

Niantic has announced that a real-life ticketed event will be held in Okinawa, Japan, in addition to the global collaboration event. This event will be held on May 7th and May 8th, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on both days. Unlike the global collaboration event, all players must have a ticket to receive event bonuses. These bonuses will not be active without a ticket even if the Trainer is in Okinawa, Japan.
A Pokémon GO event has been announced in Thailand to celebrate Songkran, the traditional Thai New Year. From April 13th at 9:00 a.m. to April 17th at 9:00 p.m., Limited Research tasks will be available when players spin Photo Discs at PokéStops. When these Limited Research tasks are completed, players will encounter Water-type Pokémon. A 2× Catch XP bonus will also be active during the event, and special bundles will be available for purchase in the in-game shop.
After the success of the Community Day meetups in March featuring Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew, Niantic has announced that the Pokémon GO April Community Day featuring Stufful, will also feature Community Day meetups. To celebrate Earth Day, Niantic will also be working with a non-profit partner to plant a tree for every Trainer who adventures 5 km on Stufful Community Day (up to US$100,000).
Niantic has revealed more details on the Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Seville event, which is being held from May 13th to 15th, in Parque del Alamillo, Seville, Spain. Alongside information about specific activities and Pokémon that will be available at this in-person live event, it's also been announced that individual Trainers will only be allowed to purchase tickets for one day of the three-day event.
