The eighth episode of Pokétoon was released on the official Pokémon Kids TV Japan YouTube channel at the beginning of this week. The episode is titled "Jigglypuff's Song".

At the end of last week, just before Christmas, Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, the producers of Pokémon Masters EX, announced a range of updates and events which players can expect to see over the coming weeks in advance of the new Sinnoh Chapter featuring Team Galactic launching in game next month. More Rallies and events are planned for the beginning of 2022, with a New Year's Message from the Producers to be released on January 1st, 2022 (JST).

In January, after obtaining enough ☆s from completing each of the puzzles in the Main Orders, players can receive various booster items and rewards. For the Standard Course, players will receive Togepi's Spike Ball Hat (translated name) outfit. Players who purchased the Premium Pass can also obtain the Scorbunny Holiday Vacation (translated name) outfit as a reward.

Every day between now and January 1st, 2022 at 3:59 p.m. PT, players of Pokémon UNITE can log-in to receive a small in-game gift. Players may pick from either 600 Aeos Coins, 375 Aeos Tickets, 5 Holowear Tickets, or 40 Item Enhancers.

Niantic has announced details for Pokémon GO's New Year's 2022 event. The event will be taking place in-game from December 31st, 2021, at 10:00 p.m. up until January 4th, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Fireworks will appear in the sky between December 31st, 2021, at 11:00 p.m. local time and January 2nd, 2022, at 12:00 a.m. local time.

Niantic has announced details of Pokémon GO's monthly update for January 2022, with a range of events scheduled to take place between Saturday, January 1st, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. to Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl have received an update to software Ver. 1.1.3. This update adds some quality of life changes. Players are advised to download the update before continuing playing.

Niantic has announced that the Clap Pokémon Spheal will be the featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO's January 2022 Community Day, which will be taking place on January 16th, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Players of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl can redeem five Color Statues of Pachirisu, Rhyperior, Electivire, Glaceon, and Lucario using the code「MERRYCHR1STMAS」. These Statues can be placed in your Secret Base in the Grand Underground. This distribution ends on December 25, 2021.

More details have been announced about several special events and costume packs that will be available in Pokémon Café ReMix over Christmas and the New Year, so that players can enjoy the game more during the year-end and New Year holidays.

Holiday-themed Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through until December 26th, 2021, at 3:59 p.m. PST. These Pokémon include Starmie, Delibird, and Cryogonal. Very rarely, a Shiny Delibird may also be encountered.

Niantic has released more details regarding the first-ever Pokémon GO Tour: Live event, which will be held on February 27th, 2022, a day after the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto on February 26th, 2022.

A new trailer released by The Pokémon Company International for Pokémon Legends: Arceus has introduced several groups that trainers will encounter and interact with during their adventures in Hisui. The trailer also reveals how players will be able to obtain the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai.

The beta site for the Pokémon Center Online for the United Kingdom has now launched! The new website is still in its early stages, so a few hiccups are to be expected. Only a limited array of products are currently available, including plush toys, clothing, and TCG cards and acessories, however new product lines will be added over time.

New Training Style Holowear for both Greedent and Zeraora are now available for purchase in the in-game shop in Pokémon UNITE. The outfits can currently only be purchased only with paid currency, at a price of 400 gems each.

Niantic has announced details for the Holidays 2021 event in Pokémon GO. Bergmite, Avalugg, and Shiny Galarian Darumaka will make their Pokémon GO debuts. Pokémon GO Winter Holiday will run from December 16th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. local time to December 31th, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Niantic has announced the introduction of the Postcard Book feature in Pokémon GO. Whenever a Trainer sends a gift to another player in Pokémon GO, a postcard from that location is also attached based on the PokéStop location that gift was from. Trainers will be able to pin Postcards to the new Postcard Book to save memories from locations visited before. The feature will be released at the start of the Pokémon GO Holidays event.

Hisuian Voltorb has been revealed in a new trailer posted by The Pokémon Company. The new Pokémon form will debut in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which is being released worldwide on January 28, 2022.

Niantic has announced the introduction of the Powered-Up PokéStops in Pokémon GO, a feature that will make new use of the AR Mapping tasks introduced last year. Soon, players will be able to work with fellow Trainers to complete AR Mapping tasks and create new AR experiences for Trainers worldwide, simply by using their smart device to scan real-world PokéStop locations.

Pokémon Café ReMix version 2.2 is now available for download. It fixes several bugs and adds Main Orders 476 to 500. Players can attempt these Orders if they have cleared Main Order 475. In addition, Cyndaquil can now also appear as a customer in the Main Orders after a Menu Development.
