The Pokémon Presents video presentation today has announced that Pokémon originally from Paldea would be coming to Pokémon GO starting in September. Earlier today, Niantic also announced details regarding the 2023 Pokémon World Championships celebration event being held in Pokémon GO from August 11th, at 10:00am to August 15th, at 8:00pm local time. Passimian, the Teamwork Pokémon, and Shiny Scraggy will all make their Pokémon GO debut as part of this event, alongside a new World Championships 2023-costumed Pikachu.
The Pokémon Company International has released full information regarding the 2023 Pokémon World Championships Fantasy Team, a skill-based sweepstakes in which Trainers can use their knowledge of the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Video Games to submit their predictions of which Pokémon will dominate the 2023 Pokémon World Championships. This sweepstakes is open only to Trainers aged 18 or older who are currently residing in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Trainers must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account to sign up for this sweepstakes, with registration closing on August 10th, at 8am (PDT).
Niantic has announced details on upcoming events and activities in Pokémon GO across August, with an infographic posted to their social media accounts. The infographic includes a variety of events between now and the beginning of September. While several of the items included in this infographic were previously announced during previous months, the update does provide dates and times for an additional event running between the end of the Pokémon World Championships and the start of the Pokémon GO Fest 2023: Global at the end of the month.
Niantic has announced a new type of event in Pokémon GO, the City Safari. These ticketed in-person events, similar to Safari Zones and Pokémon GO Fest, will feature location-themed wild Pokémon encounters, event-exclusive Special Research, and more. The Mount Pokémon Skiddo will make their Pokémon GO debut exclusively in these City Safari 2023 events, before becoming available to all Trainers worldwide at a later date.
Ahead of the Pokémon GO Fest 2023: Osaka and Pokémon GO Fest 2023: London in-person events early next month, Niantic has announced the Glittering Garden event in Pokémon GO. This global event, featuring some of the Grass-type and Fairy-type Pokémon appearing in the GO Fest events, will start in the middle of the two in-person events on August 5th, at 10:00am local time, and conclude past the end of those two events to August 8th, at 8:00pm local time. Shiny Petilil will also make its Pokémon GO debut in these events.
Niantic last week announced a new type of event in Pokémon GO: the Hatch Day event. Similar to several other Pokémon GO event types, each Hatch Day event will focus around specific featured Pokémon, with Trainers having a greatly increased chance of hatching the featured Pokémon from 2 km Eggs, as well as an increased chance of hatching the Shiny variant. The first Hatch Day event, featuring the Emanation Pokémon Riolu, is being held this coming weekend on July 22nd, between 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time.
The annual Pokémon GO Adventure Week is back, featuring Rock-type and Fossil Pokémon, and the Pokémon GO debuts of Mega Tyranitar, Shiny Tyrunt, and Shiny Amaura. Tyrunt and Amaura hatched from Eggs during the event will have a greater chance of being a Shiny Pokémon than Tyrunt or Amaura found in the wild normally. This event will run from July 27th at 10:00am, to August 2nd at 8:00pm local time.

Niantic has announced details for Water Festival: Beach Week, a Pokémon GO event that will be held from June 6th at 10:00am, to June 12th at 8:00pm local time. This event will feature the Pokémon GO debut of Sandygast, the Sand Heap Pokémon, and Palossand, the Sand Castle Pokémon. 50 Sandygast Candy will be required to evolve Sandygast into Palossand.

Alongside this announcement, Niantic have also released details on a number of activities, bonuses, and events that will be running in-game in the month of June in conjunction with this new season.

Niantic has announced that Kleavor, the Axe Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut in three-star raids as part of a special Kleavor Raid Day. This event will be held on May 6th, from 11:00am to 2:00pm local time. Currently, this event will be the only way to obtain Kleavor, as Scyther is as of writing unable to evolve into Kleavor in Pokémon GO.
Niantic has announced the dates of the Pokémon GO Fest 2023. For this year, the event will include three in-person events, with experiences in London and Osaka across August 4th through 6th, and in New York between August 18th and 20th, as well as a global digital event on August 26th and 27th.

Niantic and Kung Fu Tea, an North American chain of Boba Tea stores, have announced a new collaboration that will be rolling out across 350 Kung Fu Tea locations in the United States and Canada starting May 2nd, with participating locations offering Kung Fu Tea discounts for Pokémon GO Trainers, alongside special Raid Battles. Beverages with limited-time themed cups featuring the Team Instinct, Team Mystic, and Team Valor emblems will also be available starting in June.
Pokémon GO is ringing in the New Year with a special New Year's celebration event to run from 8:00pm local time December 31st, through to 8:00pm January 4th, 2023. As with previous years, festive fireworks will light up the Pokémon GO skies during this event, and a selection of Pokémon will be available in outfits themed around New Year's parties, including the debut appearances of Pikachu wearing a party top hat, and Noctowl wearing a New Year's outfit.

Part 2 of Pokémon GO's Winter Holiday 2022 event will be running through until December 31st, at 8:00pm local time. The entire Eevee family will debut their holiday hat appearance in Pokémon GO as part of this event. Niantic has also announced details of the Winter Wonderland and Hisuian Avalugg Raid Day events taking place on Christmas Eve, December 24th.
