Niantic has released details on Pokémon GO's newest season: Timeless Travels, which begins this Friday on December 1st at 10:00am local time, running through to March 1st, 2024, at 10:00am local time. Alongside this announcement, we also have details on a number of activities, bonuses, and events that will be running in-game in the month of December in conjunction with this new season.

The Pokémon Latin America International Championships of the 2023 to 2024 Play! Pokémon season took place in São Paulo in Brazil from 17 to 19 November which was the first International Championships event of the season. The Top 8 players of each division have been confirmed by the Pokémon Company International. The most popular Pokémon in teams for Pokémon GO and VGC and the most popular deck archetypes and their percentages of popularity on Day 2 of the Latin America International Championships were also shown in the livestream on the Official Pokémon YouTube Channel.

On November 16th, starting at 9:00am (PST) / 5:00pm (UTC), the Pokémon Trainer Club will be undergoing maintance for important updates to authentication security. As a result of this maintance, all players of the Pokémon TCG Live and Pokémon UNITE will be logged out, as will any players of Pokémon GO who use their Pokémon Trainer Club to login.

This event celebrates Diwali, a five-day long festival originating in the Indian subcontinent. The Pokémon Regional Championships in San Antonio, Texas for the 2023-2024 season will be held between the 15th and 17th of December at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Centre, with registration opening on RK9 Labs from Wednesday 18th at 7:00pm (CDT) / Thursday October 19th at Midnight (UTC). This event will host tournaments for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Video Games (VGC), and Pokémon GO, with players competing to earn championship points towards qualifying for the 2024 Pokémon World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii in August 2024.
New footage released of LAPD officers ignoring call for backup to play Pokémon GO

“I don’t want to be his help,” said former Los Angeles Police Officer Louis Lozano in recently released dashcam footage, in regards to a request for backup from a Los Angeles Police Department captain. The captain was responding to a robbery inside the Crenshaw Mall which took place on April 15th, 2017, the department reports, during which time Lozano and fellow former Officer Eric Mitchell were parked in their squad car less than 200 yards away, playing Pokémon GO. Court documents reveal that the officers then drove away from the scene of the robbery in pursuit of Snorlax and Togetic.

As part of Pokémon GO's celebration of the spooky season this year, Niantic has announced that a new Timed Research will unlock in-game each Thursday throughout the month of October. To participate in this event and receive these Timed Research opportunities, Trainers will need to purchase the Ticket of Treats, which will be available for purchase from the in-game shop for US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency) until October 29th, at 11:59pm local time.
