In this event, Lapras wearing a scarf, Dewpider, Araquanid, the Legendary Pokémon Tapu Fini, and Shiny Binacle will all be making their Pokémon GO debuts. New Water Festival Scarf avatar items will also be available in the in-game shop during and after the event.

Due to an issue affecting the chances of encountering Shiny Exeggcute during the Limited Research Day: An Egg-citing Spring Surprise event originally held on April 16th for timezones between GMT +14 to GMT +5, Pokémon GO will be holding a make-up event on April 30th, from 11am to 2pm local time, for those timezones.

A Pokémon GO event has been announced in Thailand to celebrate Songkran, the traditional Thai New Year. From April 13th at 9:00 a.m. to April 17th at 9:00 p.m., Limited Research tasks will be available when players spin Photo Discs at PokéStops. When these Limited Research tasks are completed, players will encounter Water-type Pokémon. A 2× Catch XP bonus will also be active during the event, and special bundles will be available for purchase in the in-game shop.
After the success of the Community Day meetups in March featuring Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew, Niantic has announced that the Pokémon GO April Community Day featuring Stufful, will also feature Community Day meetups. These events will held in collaboration with different participating Pokémon GO official partners, with different participating partners to be announced every in-game season. Players who have these participation ticket with a promotion code can claim them in-game to receive event-exclusive Timed Research tasks. By clearing these tasks, players can receive items and encounter Pokémon. The three partners announced for the Season of Alola are Sushiro, Tully's, and Yoshinoya.
