Niantic has announced that several cities across Europe will be holding real-world celebrations of the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto on February 26th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Niantic has announced the GO Tour Poké Ball Prep Rally event in Pokémon GO, which aims to help Trainers all over the world get ready and to make sure everybody has more than enough Poké Balls for the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto event on February 26th. Hisuian Electrode will also make their Pokémon GO debut. It will be held from February 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to February 25, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Dress up as the Ball Guy, the iconic and mysterious character known to appear at the Galar Pokémon League, with a new avatar outfit which will be available in the shop at the start of this event. Niantic has released details for Pokémon GO Tour: Live events in Monterrey, Mexico at Parque Fundidora, and in Kaohsiung, Taiwan at the Taiwan Lantern Festival, which are being held one day after the worldwide Pokémon GO Tour: Johto event. Meanwhile, the originally planned Pokémon GO Tour: Live event in Yas Bay, Abu Dhabi has been cancelled due to the pandemic. Trainers who have previously purchased tickets for this event will receive a refund.

Niantic has announced that the Cottonweed Pokémon, Hoppip will be the featured Pokémon for February 2022's Pokémon GO Community Day. Hoppip will be appearing more frequently in the wild and its Shiny variant can also be encountered. Skiploom will also appear in Parks alongside Hoppip. The event will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. When you evolve Skiploom into Jumpluff during, or within two hours after the event, it will learn the Charged Attack Acrobatics. The move will deal 110 damage in Trainer Battles and 100 damage in Gyms and in raids. The Season of Heritage storyline in Pokémon GO is beginning to wind up with the start of the new Power Plant event, which is is inspired by the power plants found in the Kanto and Kalos regions. In this event, which will be running in-game until February 1st, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time, Spark's intuition has lead him to believe that the final mechanism of the door will require Electric-type Pokémon to power it. Players will work with Spark to catch Pokémon, as he makes progress toward unlocking the final mechanism of the mysterious door located at the historical cave site. As Spark proceeds with his investigation, he begins to have a creeping feeling that something unexpected is going to happen. It seems that a nefarious force has also caught wind of the door and the power that lies beyond it.
