Niantic has announced that several cities across Europe will be holding real-world celebrations of the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto on February 26th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Dress up as the Ball Guy, the iconic and mysterious character known to appear at the Galar Pokémon League, with a new avatar outfit which will be available in the shop at the start of this event. Stronger versions of Shadow Ho-Oh and Shadow Lugia, Apex Shadow Ho-Oh and Apex Shadow Lugia, will be appearing in Pokémon GO in conjunction with Pokémon Go Tour: Johto from February 26th.

Niantic has announced the dates for the Pokémon GO Community Day events in March, April, and May of 2022. More information, including the Pokémon that will be featured at each event, will be revealed at a later date.

Niantic has released details for Pokémon GO Tour: Live events in Monterrey, Mexico at Parque Fundidora, and in Kaohsiung, Taiwan at the Taiwan Lantern Festival, which are being held one day after the worldwide Pokémon GO Tour: Johto event. Meanwhile, the originally planned Pokémon GO Tour: Live event in Yas Bay, Abu Dhabi has been cancelled due to the pandemic. Niantic has announced that the Cottonweed Pokémon, Hoppip will be the featured Pokémon for February 2022's Pokémon GO Community Day. Hoppip will be appearing more frequently in the wild and its Shiny variant can also be encountered. Skiploom will also appear in Parks alongside Hoppip. The event will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. When you evolve Skiploom into Jumpluff during, or within two hours after the event, it will learn the Charged Attack Acrobatics. The move will deal 110 damage in Trainer Battles and 100 damage in Gyms and in raids. Niantic has announced further details of the continuation of Pokémon GO's Season of Heritage story, with another event focused on Team GO Rocket and their nefarious schemes. Team GO Rocket will be executing their plans for a take-over until January 30th at 10:00 a.m. local time.

The Season of Heritage storyline in Pokémon GO is beginning to wind up with the start of the new Power Plant event, which is is inspired by the power plants found in the Kanto and Kalos regions. Players will work with Spark to catch Pokémon, as he makes progress toward unlocking the final mechanism of the mysterious door located at the historical cave site. As Spark proceeds with his investigation, he begins to have a creeping feeling that something unexpected is going to happen. It seems that a nefarious force has also caught wind of the door and the power that lies beyond it.

Niantic has announced the Mountains of Power event for Pokémon GO, which continues the current storyline from the Season of Heritage. Spark's intuition has lead him to believe that the mysterious door's second mechanism will require the help of Rock- and Steel-type Pokémon to unlock. This event will be taking place between January 7th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, January 13th, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

As the Season of Heritage continues, Niantic are offering players an opportunity to return to Pokémon's roots with the introduction of a new kind of Community Day in Pokémon GO, the Community Day Classic events. The first of these event will run on on January 22nd, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, and feature none other than the Seed Pokémon Bulbasaur.

The event will be taking place in-game from December 31st, 2021, at 10:00 p.m. up until January 4th, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Fireworks will appear in the sky between December 31st, 2021, at 11:00 p.m. local time and January 2nd, 2022, at 12:00 a.m. local time.
