As a result of technical issues impacting Trainers with Pokémon Trainer Club accounts during July 9th's Pokémon GO Community Day Classic event, Niantic has announced that a special global makeup event will be running this weekend on July 23rd, between 2:00pm and 5:00pm local time. During this period, Squirtle will once again be appearing more frequently in the wild, with its Shiny variant also being available to be encountered.
Niantic last week announced a new type of event in Pokémon GO: the Hatch Day event. Similar to several other Pokémon GO event types, each Hatch Day event will focus around specific featured Pokémon, with Trainers having a greatly increased chance of hatching the featured Pokémon from 2 km Eggs, as well as an increased chance of hatching the Shiny variant. The first Hatch Day event, featuring the Emanation Pokémon Riolu, is being held this coming weekend on July 22nd, between 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time.
The annual Pokémon GO Adventure Week is back, featuring Rock-type and Fossil Pokémon, and the Pokémon GO debuts of Mega Tyranitar, Shiny Tyrunt, and Shiny Amaura. Tyrunt and Amaura hatched from Eggs during the event will have a greater chance of being a Shiny Pokémon than Tyrunt or Amaura found in the wild normally. This event will run from July 27th at 10:00am, to August 2nd at 8:00pm local time.
Niantic has revealed that the Tadpole Pokémon, Poliwag will be the featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO's Community Day for July 2023. During this event, Poliwag will be appearing more frequently in the wild, together with its Shiny variant. The event will be held on July 31st, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time.
Ahead of the upcoming North American release of the Pokémon GO Plus + device on July 14th, Niantic has released details on a new event in Pokémon GO to mark the occasion. The Catching Some Z's event, which will run from July 15th at 10:00am through to July 16th at 8:00pm local time, will feature the debut of the Drowsing Pokémon Komala, as well as Snorlax wearing a nightcap.
Pokémon GO is celebrating its seventh anniversary this week, with a week-long Anniversary Party event starting July 6th at 10:00am, and running through to July 12th at 8:00pm local time. Two new costumed Pokémon will make their debut in this event, with Wartortle and Blastoise wearing a party hat both appearing for the first time. Trainers who have a Squirtle wearing a party hat will be able to use Squirtle Candy to evolve it into its party hat wearing evolutions.
The North America International Championships, the final International Championships event of the 2023 Championship Series season, are taking place this weekend in Columbus, Ohio. Fans will be able to catch all the action via livestreams on the various official Pokémon Twitch and YouTube channels, as some of the world's most talent trainers compete in the Pokémon Video Game Series, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and Pokémon GO to qualify for a place at the 2023 Pokémon World Championships, this year being held in Yokohama, Japan. The last rounds of the Pokémon UNITE regional finals will also be held this weekend alongside the main tournament events.
Niantic has announced that Turtonator, the Blast Turtle Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut in three-star raids as part of the new Dark Flames event, which will be held from June 29th at 10:00am, to July 2nd at 8:00pm local time. Mega Sableye will also make its debut during this event in Mega Raids.
With Pokémon GO Fest 2023 getting ever closer, Niantic has announced that Mega Rayquaza will make its Pokémon GO debut at the event. Mega Rayquaza will first debut in raids during the in-person Pokémon GO Fest in Osaka and London between August 4th to 6th, and in New York City from August 18th to 20th.

As an apology gift to all Trainers, a special Global Raid Event will be held this Sunday June 11th between 11:00am and 5:00pm local time, with Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf each appearing in five-star raids in their respective regions.

This event will feature the Pokémon GO debut of Sandygast, the Sand Heap Pokémon, and Palossand, the Sand Castle Pokémon. 50 Sandygast Candy will be required to evolve Sandygast into Palossand.
Niantic has released details on Pokémon GO's newest season: Hidden Gems. This new season will run from today until September 1st, at 10:00am local time. Alongside this announcement, Niantic have also released details on a number of activities, bonuses, and events that will be running in-game in the month of June in conjunction with this new season.

Niantic has announced the Rising Shadows event for Pokémon GO which will launch a new feature called Shadow Raids when it will run from 10am on Monday 22 May to 8pm on Sunday 28 May local time. Team GO Rocket will be taking over Gyms during this event although some Gyms not controlled by Team GO Rocket may still contain different Raids which aren't Shadow Raids. Players will not be able to use Remote Raid Passes on Shadow Raids and there will not be a team bonus adding more Premier Balls from the colour of the Gym because it should become black just like Team GO Rocket controlled PokéStops. Shadow Mewtwo will be in 5* Shadow Raids from 10am on Saturday 27 May to 8pm on Sunday 28 May local time and a Shiny Shadow Mewtwo will be available from finishing the Shadow Raid if you are lucky.
