The Pokémon Europe International Championships are taking place this weekend at the enormous ExCeL Centre in London, England. Fans will be able to catch all the action via livestreams on the various official Pokémon Twitch and YouTube channels, as some of the world's most talent trainers compete in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Video Games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE to qualify for a place at the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, which this year being held in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Pokémon UNITE has released a new version, now available for all players to download. This version implements several balance changes to various Pokémon in the game. As announced in February by the official Pokémon UNITE X (formerly Twitter) account, Miraidon has joined the fray, and along with it, draft picks and new events have also been added.
The Pokémon Europe International Championships are coming once again to the enormous ExCeL London event center in England. Running from from April 5th to 7th, the event will feature competitions for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE. As with the 2022 Pokemon World Championships and 2023 Pokémon Europe International Championships which were also held at this venue, a pop-up Pokémon Center store will be available at the event, selling a wide variety of Pokémon products, including a range of items themed around the International Championships.
The long wait is now over, and Gyarados has finally joined the fray in Pokémon UNITE, being released together with Holowear themed for the Chinese New Year. Initial response from the userbase appears to be largely negative. For once though, these complaints are not for a newly released Pokémon being overpowered, but rather for it being too weak!
Following a series of short teaser videos showing off Gyarados's moveset, the official Pokémon UNITE account on X (formerly Twitter) has released a full infographic detailing Gyarados's Ability, Moves and UNITE Move along with its Progression stats, ahead of the Pokémon joining the game this week on January 25th. Aeos Cup Online Qualifiers Registration have now also opened for the Unite Championship Series 2024, with information being released on the year's tournament schedule, and the cash prizes that will be available for each event.
Battle Pass 21 has gone live in Pokémon UNITE, alongside the start of Ranked Match Season 17. The new Battle Pass focuses on Pokémon wearing stage-play outfits, and brings with it a variety of new daily lessons and missions, Holowear, and rewards. Version 1.13.1.5 also dropped this week, with nerfs to Metagross. Additionally, a new video featuring Gyarados using Aqua Tail has been published to the official Pokémon UNITE account on X (formerly Twitter).
A new playable Pokémon for Pokémon UNITE, Gyarados, has been revealed in a set of news updates on the official Japanese website, and posts on official Pokémon UNITE social media accounts. This announcement also included details on mechanics and gameplay for Magikarp. In celebration of the announcement, a new artwork featuring Magikarp using "Splash" in Theia Sky Ruins has been unveiled, and the official Pokémon UNITE japanese account on X (formerly Twitter) will be holding a special giveaway of in-game items and real life merchandise featuring Magikarp and Gyarados.
In a bit of a holiday treat to all players, Pokémon UNITE has recently made a pair of redemption codes available, giving giving all players the opportunity to redeem one free Unite License and a Meowscarada Platinum Boost Emblem using the codes SURPRISE23 and MERRYXMAS. SURPRISE23 will expire on December 31st, at 10:59pm (PST), so don't delay!
In celebration of the recent release of Meowscarada in Pokémon UNITE, players can currently reward a gift code in game to receive a free Sprigatito Platinum Boost Emblem. The version 1.13.1.3 patch has also been released, bringing balancing changes for Meowscarada.
Battle Pass 20 has arrived in Pokémon UNITE, bringing new holowear for Sableye and Mewtwo, along with other assorted rewards for players. The Version 1.13.1.2 patch has also dropped this week, enabling the Holiday events that were announced previously as well as bringing balancing changes to a wide selection of Pokémon.
Pokémon UNITE have released information on their event schedule for this year's holiday period, with the Snowball Battle in Shiver City and other holiday activities set to make their return starting December 7th, alongside the debut of Meowscarada and its Phantom Thief Style Holowear. Metagross has also had its release date confirmed, with the Pokémon set to make its way to Aeos Island on December 26th. Additionally, a new Producer Message has been posted on the official Pokémon Community forums, announcing new balancing changes for Ranked Matches are taking place, along with new Held Items & Battle Items.
On November 16th, starting at 9:00am (PST) / 5:00pm (UTC), the Pokémon Trainer Club will be undergoing maintance for important updates to authentication security. As a result of this maintance, all players of the Pokémon TCG Live and Pokémon UNITE will be logged out, as will any players of Pokémon GO who use their Pokémon Trainer Club to login.

This week, Blaziken, who was revealed in that same announcement, has joined the fray as an All-Rounder, while Mewtwo has also received a new Pokébuki Style Holowear.
