The 2022 Pokémon World Championships will be taking place from August 18th to 21st, at the ExCeL Centre in London. The Pokémon Company International has today shared details about how fans can catch all the action via livestreams on the various official Pokémon Twitch channels. Also released were details on a variety of digital broadcast rewards that fans can receive simply by tuning in, including the Victory Pokémon, Victini, as well as a physical distribution of Sinistea for people attending the event in-person.
During the Pokémon Presents presentation broadcasted August 3rd, a time-limited Quick Battle Event, called Pika Party was announced. In this event, all Pokémon on the field, including wild Pokémon and player-controlled characters will appear as Pikachu. This special mode will remain available in-game until September 1st.
With Pokémon UNITE celebrating it's first anniversary this Thursday on July 21st, The Pokémon Company have announced a suite of updates and in-game events that will be coming to the MOBA title over the course of the next month to mark the milestone. Together with an anniversary event featuring rewards for both new and returning players, the game will also be seeing the addition of a new limited-time game mode, as well as six new playable Pokémon joining the game's roster.
The final evolution of the Fire-type starter Pokémon of the Kalos region, Delphox is now available in Pokémon UNITE. It has powerful attacks including, Fire Blast, Fire Spin, and Fanciful Fireworks. Fanciful Fireworks will deal damage over time to opposing Pokémon in its area of effect, decreasing their movement speed and weakening their HP recovery effects for a short time.
This week, The Pokémon Company and Pokémon UNITE have officially released in English the first two chapters of Pokémon UNITE - Come Over to Aeos Island!, a new manga series based on the Pokémon UNITE game developed by TiMi Studio Group. Like the games it's based on, the new manga has been made free for anyone to download.
Pokémon UNITE's official Twitter account has announced that the Psychic-type Eeveelution, Espeon, will be joining the game's roster from May 16th, as a ranged attacker. Espeon is the second playable Eeveelution in the free-to-start title, following the addition of Sylveon to the roster last October.
Battle Pass 7 has gone live in Pokemon UNITE together with the update to Version 22.214.171.124 and the start of Ranked Match Season 4. Following on from the western theater theme in the previous UNITE in the Spotlight Battle Pass, this latest Battle Pass is named for the traditional Japanese Kabuki theater. The update includes a variety new player character accessories based around traditional and period Japanese clothing. Also featured are new unlockable Pokémon Holowear for Blastoise, Charizard, Eldegoss, and Trevenant. The Pokébuki Battle Pass will run through to June 12th at 7 pm (CDT).
The eSports brand JCG, which deals with eSports tournament managment, stream studio rental, consulting, has partnered with The Pokémon Company to start a series of one-day Pokémon UNITE online tournament events, called Pokémon UNITE Challenge DAY. JCG previously hosted the Pokémon UNITE Winter tournament in December and January.
The next fighter coming to Pokémon UNITE has now been officially revealed! The Water-Fairy type Pokémon Azumarill will arrive in-game on April 7th, as a Melee All-Rounder. The addition of Azumarill brings the game's roster up to a total of 34 playable Pokémon, with more new Pokémon expected to be announced in the near future. A new Holowear set for Wigglytuff has also been teased.
The Pokémon Company International has announced that the 2022 Pokémon World Championships will be held from August 18th to 21st, 2022, at the enormous ExCeL London event center in England, which has also hosted previous Europe International Championships. The event will include competitions for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games, Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE, and Pokkén Tournament DX.
Battle Pass 6, UNITE in the Spotlight, has gone live in Pokemon UNITE together with the update to Version 126.96.36.199. This latest battle pass is centered around a theatre theme, adding in a variety of new player character accessories, and unlockable Pokémon Holowear for Greninja, Sylveon, Absol, Gengar, and Garchomp. Separately to the new Battle Pass, a new version update has also added Duraladon as a playable Pokémon.
Registration has officially opened for the Pokémon UNITE March Cup, which will run on March 12th-13th. This tournament forms part of the Pokémon UNITE Championship Series, which began just last month, and is an Open Qualifier for the March Finals to be held on March 26th. The series allows Trainers around the world to compete in a series of monthly, online tournaments for a chance to earn championship points, prize money, and a possible trip to the 2022 Pokemon Unite World Championships in London. In total, over $1 million USD in prizes will be awarded in cash and other prizes over the course of the 2022 series, with half a million USD to be given away at the World Championships alone.
The official Pokémon UNITE Twitter account has announced that an update to the game will be available on March 11th. This update will be resolving several issues with Hoopa's teleportation, in order to ensure fair play.
The Pokémon Company, in collaboration with the eSports marketing company CyberZ, will be hosting "Pokémon UNITE Winter Tournament FINAL" on Saturday, March 5th. The conclusion to the Japan-only first official offline Pokémon UNITE Tournament, this tournament will be livestreamed on the official Japanese language Pokémon UNITE YouTube channel starting from 12:30pm JST. The tournament livestream will be hosted by Refu and Yu Mizukami (水上侑), with additional live reporting from Kousuke Hiraiwa (平岩康佑) and Shohei Shibata (柴田将平).
The Pokémon Company has announced that the Mythical Psychic/Ghost Pokémon, Hoopa, will be coming to Pokémon UNITE as part of the official Pokémon Day event. While the official event will begin on February 27th, the UNITE License for Hoopa and some special events are already available in the game for Trainers to use, including an all-new battle mode - full-fury battles! This event brings new Holowear to the game alongside special battles and challenges.
A special Pokémon UNITE Winter Tournament has been announced for players in the Asian region. This will be an official one-day online tournament organized by JCG Co., Ltd., in cooperation with The Pokémon Company. The regions eligible to participate include Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, The Philippines, and South Korea. The tournament will receive official support in both English and Japanese languages. The top-ranked teams in each tournament may be invited to the offline tournament held in Japan in the future.
A letter published on the official Pokémon UNITE website from Masaaki Hoshino, the game's producer, has made several announcements about upcoming changes and future plans for the title over the coming months, including a confirmation that Pokémon UNITE will be joining the 2022 Pokémon World Championships.
Every day between now and January 1st, 2022 at 3:59 p.m. PT, players of Pokémon UNITE can log-in to receive a small in-game gift. Players may pick from either 600 Aeos Coins, 375 Aeos Tickets, 5 Holowear Tickets, or 40 Item Enhancers.
New Training Style Holowear for both Greedent and Zeraora are now available for purchase in the in-game shop in Pokémon UNITE. The outfits can currently only be purchased only with paid currency, at a price of 400 gems each.
