The Pokémon Company has announced a series of distribution gifts that movie-goers can receive when they watch the re-airing of previous Pokémon movies: Pokémon Heroes: Latios and Latias, Jirachi: Wish Maker and The Rise of Darkrai in Japanese theaters that are taking place as part of the Summer Memories GET! 25 years of Pokémon Film Festival (夏の思い出、ゲットだぜ！25周年ポケモン映画祭). Codes to redeem Pokémon in-game will only be available while stock lasts, and can be claimed in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield until September 30th this year.

The Pokémon Company has announced that every Friday between August 12th to September 16th, a different passcode will be announced during the Japanese broadcast of Pokémon Journeys: The Series (Pocket Monsters in Japan). These passcodes allow Trainers to receive 5 of Ash's Pokémon from the anime, Dracovish, Dragonite, Gengar, Sirfetch'd, and Lucario, via Mystery Gift in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield.

Trainers can now register for the new I Choose ’Chu! Online Competition in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Registrations will remain open until August 11th, at 4:59pm (PDT). The competition itself will then take place from August 11th at 5:00pm, through to August 14th, at 4:59pm (PDT).

Several Water-type Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through July 10th, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, including Poliwag, Marill, and Spheal. Very rarely, Shiny Marill can also be encountered. Defeat these Pokémon to earn refreshing items like Fresh Water, Soda Pop, and Lemonade.

A limited-time distribution of Gastrodon was announced for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield during the 2022 Pokémon North America International Championships Pokémon VGC Day 1 livestream. This Gastrodon is based on the Gastrodon used by Eric Rios to win the 2022 Pokémon Europe International Championships. Players can redeem Gastrodon using the code「ER1CSGASTR0D0N」. This code can only be redeemed until June 27th.

The 2022 Pokémon North America International Championships will be held in Columbus, Ohio from June 24th to June 26th. Trainers will compete for Championship Points (CP) for the 2022 Pokémon World Championships, which are taking place across August 18th to 21st in London, England at the ExCeL London events center. Fans can catch all the action via livestreams on the various official Pokémon Twitch channels.

Celebrate the 2-year anniversary of the release of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass The Isle of Armor with Gigantamax Urshifu (Single Strike Style) and Gigantamax Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style) appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through until June 19th, at 4:59pm (PDT). Trainers defeating them will receive valuable items not normally available from from Max Raid Battles.

The Single Battle Cup Online Competition for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield is now open for registration until June 23rd, at 4:59pm (PDT). The competition itself will takebplace from June 23rd, at 5:00pm to June 26th, at 4:59pm (PDT).

James Turner, the British graphic designer who served as Art Director for Pokémon Sword and Shield, announced today that he is leaving Game Freak to establish his own game studio, All Possible Futures, together with his old friend Jonathan Biddle, who most recently worked on the indie title The Swords of Ditto.

The Global Challenge 2022 Spring Online Competition has been announced for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Registration has begun and will remain open until May 5th, at 4:59 p.m. (PDT). The competition itself will then take place from May 5th, at 5:00pm to May 9th, at 4:59pm (PDT).

A limited-time distribution of Dracovish was announced for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield during the 2022 Pokémon Europe International Championships Pokémon VGC Day 1 livestream. This Dracovish is based on the Dracovish used by Marc0fier0 to win the 2020 Pokémon Oceania International Championships. Players can redeem Dracovish using the code「EU1C2022G1FT」. This code can only be redeemed until April 25th, 2022.

The Pokémon Company International has announced the livestream commentators for the 2022 Pokémon Europe International Championships held this weekend from April 22th - 24th. The event will be broadcast live on the official Twitch accounts of The Pokémon Company International. Some of the world's best Pokémon Trainers will be competing in tournaments including the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games, Pokkén Tournament DX, and for the first time on Pokémon GO.

The Imitation Pokémon, Sudowoodo is appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through April 2, 2022, at 8:59 a.m. JST. Very rarely, the Shiny variant can also be encountered.

Several prehistoric Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through March 27, 2022, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. These Pokémon include Carracosta, Archeops, Tyrantrum, and Aurorus. Very rarely, Shiny Tyrantrum can also be encountered.

The Pokémon Company International has announced that the 2022 Pokémon World Championships will be held from August 18th to 21st, 2022, at the enormous ExCeL London event center in England, which has also hosted previous Europe International Championships. The event will include competitions for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games, Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE, and Pokkén Tournament DX.

The Gigantamax forms of the final evolutions of the First Partner Pokémon of the Kanto region, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, will be appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through February 28, 2022 at 8:59 JST. Trainers will receive Max Mushrooms when they defeat or capture the Pokémon. This event is to celebrate Pokémon Day 2022, the 26th anniversary of the release of Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Green Version in Japan. To encounter these Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle, you'll need to connect your Nintendo Switch system to the internet through the Y-Comm or by selecting Mystery Gift in the X menu, then selecting Get the Wild Area News. After that, whenever you see a pillar of light shining from a Pokémon Den in the Wild Area, you can walk up to the Pokémon Den and interact with it to start a Max Raid Battle. This event does not affect the Pokémon encountered within Dynamax Adventures.

The Cream Pokémon, Milcery will be appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through February 21, 2022, at 8:59 a.m. JST. Very rarely, the Shiny variant can also be encountered. All Milcery encountered will have the Gigantamax Factor. When Trainers defeat or capture Milcery, they can receive one of the Sweet item.
