I know that the official pokedex ordering is used in the wiki always, but I thought that maybe we should make one that makes more sense.
It has always frustrated me how the national pokedex lists them by game essentially. Sure, if they are being created by humans that makes sense, but to me it seems like they would have two orders, order of discovery, which is the current order (it wouldn't truly be that way if they were real, but this one I am willing to sacrifice) and order of convenience.
Basically we would order it something like:
-Starter Pokemon,
-Pokemon found in all regions natively (see Note1)
-Kanto Pokemon
-Johto Pokemon
-Hoenn Pokemon
-Sinnoh Pokemon
-Legendary Pokemon
Basically we would have the starters as the first 36 pokemon, then Kanto pokemon with all evolutions in order no matter what generation they are from, and so on and so forth.
We could instead of having it based on region and evolution, make it similar to the formatting of a regional pokedex. Which has certain patterns we could follow in creating this one.
Also, something that should be included in every game from now on is the ability to view the pokemon's native region(s) and where to catch them there.
So, I'm just wondering if anyone wants to help me in performing this task, as I think if we could create something of the sort and submit it to nintendo as a sorting option for future National pokedexes, perhaps it would make it easier for people attempting to see the relationships of pokemon or find evolved forms.
Note 1: Johto regional pokedex is somewhat inaccurate, because rather than creating a pokedex for the region, they simply attempted to make it match the original New Pokedex available in G/S/C as closely as possible. This means that someone should really go through and find the pokemon that clearly aren't native to Johto and eliminate them from that regional pokedex for the sake of this project.
