Well I mean you have to battle it first and it can't be like an uber rare random pokemon that doesn't even live there. Like you can't catch a porygon randomly on route 2

.................. I have no idea what you mean by that. What I mean is that you can battle and call out commands for your Pokemon besides just moves. And you can improvise strategies based on the moves that your Pokemon already know
