Pokémon Best Wishes Series 2 Decolora Adventure! (April 25th)

Re: Pokémon Best Wishes Series 2 Dekoroa Adventure! (April 25th)

Ash going back to Kanto is most likely going to be a single episode for the typical reunion in Pallet Town and then he's going to go off to the XY region. Simple as that.

Do you not see the difference here? When Ash returned to Kanto in the other sagas it was literally for one episode (or half an episode) in some cases before setting out again.

From the sounds of things he's going to be in Kanto for at least 7-8 episodes. 7-8 episodes aren't going to be spent in Pallet Town doing nothing.
From what I've been reading, this arc is Ash's journey to return to Kanto. Where are you getting the 7-8 episodes in Kanto from?

The island hopping thing is said to be the, "start of a new adventure in Kanto." He may only be spending 4 episodes in these islands.

Since this lasts until at least July, I don't think that he's going to be spending four episodes in these islands.

Return to Kanto! The long-awaited start of a new chapter!
Going back from the Unova region to the Kanto region, Ash and his friends have a great adventure on the Dekorola Archipelago! Getting chased by Beedrill, getting chased by gigantic Heatmor...
What?! Say goodbye to Oshawott?!
Also, everyone gets turned into a Beheeyem?! There's more! An encoutner with a mythical Pokémon?!
Could it be?! Iris and Ash break off their friendship?! And Team Rocket watches, smirking...?!
Laughs! Tears! Treasures?! They set off on their boat trip, visiting various islands!
Nothing there says anything about it being in Kanto. "Return to Kanto" and "The long-awaited start of a new chapter" are separated by an explanation mark, which is the same as if they were separated by a period.

Also, there are other things like the Beheeyem, giant Heatmor (shame the standard giant episode wasn't Volcarona v Tyranitar) and the Ash-Iris episode has yet to be announced. So it won't be only 4 episodes like you suggest because we already have four episodes announced.

There is literally no reason for Iris/Cilan to travel back to Kanto with Ash if the next type of short or brief adventure didn't take place there. May and Max showed up in Kanto because of Battle Frontier, but Dawn *didn't* go to Kanto because the generartion was over then.

Do you really think Iris and Cilan are going to go to Kanto to say, "Hi" to Prof. Oak and Tracey, and then go back to Unova or wherever? What are they even going there in the first place? By this logic they should split from Ash right after the island hopping adventure as Ash takes the last ferry back alone.

These probably all take place in these episodes. That's why the same scan is saying those summaries and showing those episodes. I could easily see the Ash/Iris argument happening in the Jirachi episode for example, and Jirachi sort of being the one that helps them apologize to one another or whatever.

To be honest, considering the way Best Wishes has turned out so far, who the feck knows what the writers are thinking any more?

As for why Iris and Cilan are still going to be travelling with Ash? In all honesty, who knows? All we know is that they are. Heck, they might do as you suggested and leave Ash at the final ferry, with this arc essentially them being polite and walking Ash out to his car (As you do when you have a visitor). We'll only be able to judge accurately when we do approach the end of this arc.

Looking at the currently revealed episode titles, I highly doubt it. Also, if this was only going to happen for four episodes, why would they name a 20+ episode series after the first 4 episodes? It makes absolutely no sense.

Well I'm saying is when they don't want Kanto to be important, Ash only spends half an episode there. It is quite possible we'll have a short 8 episode or so arc in Kanto. I definitely expect something to happen with Team Rocket before the end of this generation.

The same exact scan said the episode summaries and showed those episodes, they're probably advertising the same thing. Its not like what you said can't easily take place in these episodes since we don't know the full plots of them.

Also where do you get that the series was renamed? Seems to me like they're just going back to the Best Wishes: Season 2 name after Episode N ends. There is no new, "Islands" title as far as I know.

The summary that was translated by Sushi was based on the a brief overview of the things that are going to be happening in the saga overall on TVTokyo's Pokemon website. The actual scan of the magazine hasn't been translated yet as far as I know.

Right here. It's called Pocket Monsters Best Wishes Season 2 Da! That's where "Dekoroa Adventure" comes from.

How? It's referring to the Dekoroa Islands, where this new filler arc is taking place.

Oh, there's a little compass in the logo. Cute.

Well, you guys all go back to your shitstorm, then. I'll be over here, waiting until we actually have a decent amount of information on this thing. :p

When they're in Kanto do you expect them to change the title to, "Kanto adventures" or something? They'll probably just keep it especially since there won't be many episodes left.

Even in Japan the show was never titled, "Battle Frontier," it kept the Advanced Generation name throughout the whole thing.

Re: Pokémon Best Wishes Series 2 Dekoroa Adventure! (April 25th)

Also, isn't the title sort of a pun now even more so? Like, "da" basically is added to the end of a sentence in Japanese to imply exclamation, correct? So there's sort of a cute redundancy by having "Da!".

The title won't change because there is not going to be an adventure in Kanto. The DA! arc is them going to Kanto. It will most likely end when they reach Pallet Town and Ash decides to go off to the Gen VI region.

As for Advanced Generation, FireRed and LeafGreen were a part of the Gameboy Advance generation of games and Emerald's Battle Frontier was moved to Kanto and Emerald is also a part of the Gameboy Advance generation, so it still fit.

Seriously, your argument here is like saying Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl would clearly see the gang going back to Hoenn. In other words, it makes no sense.

Do you really expect Ash to wander around a group of islands with no challenge whatsoever in terms of Gyms/league AND no villain team like Episode N? (And if we knew there was a Gym challenge, I'm sure the advertisements would make us know about it first hand)

Why would the writers end a generation on what is essentially practically nothing? Every generation ended with some major event, I cannot see this gen ending with Ash just visiting islands for filler stories and then a ho-hum Pallet visit. And as I mentioned before, Iris/Cilan going all the way to Kanto with Ash for like...1 episode...and then departing doesn't seem right.

As for Advanced Generation, FireRed and LeafGreen were a part of the Gameboy Advance generation of games, so it still fit.

Best Wishes changed the title of its series like 4 times. This is something that has never been done before. What happened a decade ago doesn't affect today.

Yes. Because this is a filler arc and Pokémon loves fillers. I never said it will be all fillers though, there could be another tournament or something somewhere down the line and a proper send off for Burgundy and Georgia. We still have 7 months until XY's release, so they could easily announce and hype something between now and then. All because it wasn't announced now doesn't mean it won't be.

Because frankly, the writers well and truly fucked up Best Wishes as a whole. We don't even know if Iris and Cilan are going to Kanto with Ash, they could be escorting him to the final ferry or something.

So why did you bring up Advanced Generation in the first place then?

In fact, how about we make a bet? If it is announced that there is to be an arc in Kanto, then I will change my user title to "Scott was right" from the moment of announcement up until after the debut of the XY anime. If however, there is no Kanto adventure and the DA! series either ends with Ash simply heading off to Pallet Town or with a typical Pallet Town episode (as to be fair, DP ending with him going to Pallet and BW began with him leaving), you change your user title to "Josh was right" from the moment of announcement up until after the debut of the XY anime?

And both previous filler arcs like Orange Islands and Battle Frontier actually had important events happen in them. This seems nothing alike in terms of set-up. There is virtually nothing important seemingly happening in this island quest...its just random filler stories that could take place anywhere. Where is the important aspect like Orange Islands and Battle Frontier had?

Summary doesn't make it sounds like only Ash wants to go back to Kanto, but the whole group is going. Yes the majority of Best Wishes has been quite poor, but I don't think they would end a generation on a filler quest of nothing.

Fine, reminds me in a few months when it happens.

I can see one of two things happening in Kanto, the wrap up for Giovanni/TR, and Ash competing in some final tournament.

Re: Pokémon Best Wishes Series 2 Dekoroa Adventure! (April 25th)

An adventure in Kanto sounds possible, but certainly not a guarantee, especially when the announcement was focused on just the journey back to Kanto more than anything else. I could easily see them put a tournament at one of these islands for Ash to win instead of something in Kanto. It's kind of weird that they wouldn't mention something like that when announcing it if that was the case, but just because they didn't doesn't necessarily mean that it won't happen.

As for why Iris and Cilan are traveling with him, maybe they are just seeing him off to the last ferry or they want to be in Kanto to meet his family real quick. They could have them stay in Kanto for a couple of episodes instead of one like the usual Pallet Town reunions. Iris hasn't had the best reason for traveling with Ash in the first place, so this doesn't phase me too much.
