I think it's also worth mentioning that this vocal fanbase may be just vocal minority.. I see just as many people who are excited for USUM as I see those who are judging the games before they even come out. To call them the worst selling games is a bit too early, especially given that the Japanese market will likely give them the sales, and in the end, it's like any other time a third version was in the making (assuming these are only third versions split in 2 that is).. Also, these are by no means the games announced and released within the shortest time of the last titles. Crystal came out just a year after GS as well, and FRLG came out in the same year as Emerald, we just think it was longer because releases were not global back then. Point is that the time between release of one title and another hardly matters because we've had yearly releases in the past as well, even if only Crystal as a third version released a year after the originals and others were remakes. And well if anything, a third version-like title is easier on them to develop instead of a full-blown new gen

I saw the Lycanroc dusk trailer (yeah I know, super late to the party). I'm just liking this form more and more, but I'm sad we won't be able to shiny hunt for it, because it's a gift Pokemon. Too bad. New HP bar is nice, but I liked the little design behind it from SM, better. Also did anyone notice that the battles seem a little bit faster, like not as much wait time between moves?

I think why we aren't getting much news about the game, is because the only real differences lie around in the story of it. It might not be that different at all. There might not be any new Alolan forms or anything (which is really a missed opportunity. I mean they introduce this brand new concept of regional forms and give us like 10 lines). The story might have only slight changes. We still might have the same 7 trials.

But I think the company can also do better about keeping the hype up for the game, without revealing anything, or at least directly revealing anything. Every once and a while, they could release trailers, even just 30 second trailers, not saying a word, just showing off some gameplay, music. It could be the most basic kind of gameplay, like just running around one route. The gameplay doesn't have to reveal anything substantial, but they can if they want to. Remember how in SM, we saw Ribombee, way before we had a name for it. Or heck, even how we saw the overworld sprite for Rockruff. If they did have any new forms, then that would be a cool way t show them off, just a simple overworld sprite, and then we'd try to figure out what the heck they were. They would just be subtly hinting on new features in . the game, without directly saying anything about them. I don't know about you, but with so little revealed since the game reveal, I think something like this would satisfy me.

Edit: JP trailer, too, showing off Z-Move animations and a new Z-Ring! Seems that the animations have been given an upgrade.

Hahaha I love the new player characters' artwork. Good to see something more spirited than them just generically standing there.

They've certainly got my attention, as this does look quite different from SM thus far. Though I'm going to hold my breath on the Walking Pokémon thing - there could be limitations, like maybe only certain Pokémon, or maybe only in certain areas.

I like that Ryuki is in the main storyline. He caught my interest in the previous games. An injured Snowpix? Are they adapting Lillie's anime storyline now as an alternative to Lillie's game storyline? Have we gone meta-meta?????

Wellp, I'm officially back on the hype train. It looks like we're gonna be having a fun adventure even if the map looks mostly the same.

Also, I wouldn't jump the gun about following pokemon just yet.. It was the only scene showing the rockruff following you and it could be the event rockruff's special feature or some minigame

I really wouldn't get my hopes up until they confirm it..it's already weird that the other scenes showing the player don't have following pokemon, so it might be some gimmick/minigame/restricted area


Also, has anybody been able to translate the japanese trailer's Z bracelet feature part? I can't really tell what the new flipping crystal thing is for from just watching the footage

A shorter trailer than I expected, but there should be more news coming today from Worlds to make up for it.

Not a whole lot of changes to the map, it seems. I was only able to find:

- A small new shore on the northeast coast of Melemele
- A bit more land in Kala'e Bay
- The Hau'oli City mall has been remodeled
- The volcanoes on Akala aren't spouting gas anymore
- Another small new shore on the northeast coast of Heahea City
- The Gyarados lake in Malie Garden seems to be half-drained
- The Lake of the Sunne/Moone is also drained, it looks like?
- There's some new white thing (a building? an Aether module?) on the Secluded Shore
- The empty lots in Hau'oli, Heahea, Royal Avenue, Konikoni, and Malie have been filled with new buildings, but not the ones at Mount Hokulani, Route 15, Tapu Village, or Seafolk Village
- Poni Breaker Coast now has a surfable area
- There are secret Illuminati silhouettes of Mega Mewtwo Z and Ultra Dunsparce in the clouds

New footage, as well as artwork of the redesigned protagonists and Ultra Alola. Very nice. That portal on the map's piqued my interest though - I'm willing to bet it's the Ultra Dimension. That white thing on the cover's also interesting - it's definitely Necrozma, so perhaps that's its true form.
