Is pokémon ripping things from other shows?

I don't think Pokemon would do that personally. I think its personally just for more views and make it more exciting for children. YouTubers maybe but not Pokemon :p

Why they do that? Just like every show, Pokemon is implicitly/explicitly ripping concepts off here and there. That's not necessarily a bad thing, in fact it's compulsory for a show since you get your inspiration from other series, shows, books... (see intertextuality). There is this trend that Pokemon is more and more ripping off explicit concepts from other series with SM and that's probably the cause of you having made this thread.

They parody concepts in Sun and Moon, and they also add more genres to the series.

There's a difference in ripping/copying/plagiarism compared to what Pokemon is doing. Sailor Moon, Power Rangers, PreCure are all sentai-based series. To be honest, the Pokemon games had the concept when they allowed users to make movies.

Yes but this isn't exclusive to the SM series; for instance, XY ripped-off Naruto on occasion with Froakie's so-obviously-a-Rasengan Water Pulse and they began using Kishimoto-style face faults in that saga as well.

I don't think pokemon is ripping anything off, it's just that there are only so many concepts and archetypes you can work with within the anime genre (Greninja and SM's comedy style being some examples), so you're bound to end up with some recycled stuff here and there.

Pokémon is not exactly ripping-off anything. Sometimes they'll make a nod at something pre-existing (like the Sentai genre in the current arc), but usually doing it in their own way which is definitely transformative enough, or far too insignificant and brief (like the Speed Racer-like faces in the Denjimushi kart episode), to not be considered a rip-off at all.

If anything, Pokémon up to XY (included) was ripping itself off, being so derivative of its own tropes and cliches that the show became excruciatingly formulaic.

In SM, it's true that references have been ramped up to eleven, and that it takes place in a school. However, the two elements are just small details in the Pokemon anime we already know, the episode plots feel very familiar and Pokemon-like despite all the changes. The amount of school-related plots is very small if not zero.

However, the UB arc so far is a very by-the-books parody of Super Sentai-like shows, but I don't know if we can really blame the writers, after all they were told to "use very bizarre and powerful alien-like creatures in a short span of episodes without using crazy enviroments".

Every TV show created ever have ripped off from something else. That's how they work. OS was ripping off from shows like Dragonball, Ranma, Time Bokan, etc. Now SM is ripping off from Yokai Watch and Sentai shows. Same is true for these shows too. Dragonball was/is ripping off Marvel comics, Yokai Watch is ripping off Doraemon, etc. Pokemon itself is ripped off by many shows. It's how TV works.

Which was also based off previous ninja based anime throwing ninja stars. Just as it wasn't original on Pokemon, it wasn't original on Naruto either.

Pretty sure that Froakie's Water Pulse wasn't meant to be a throwing star; that would be Water Shuriken.

other question? what is not ripping from anything this days?
If something is remastered and redone with style then why not?

I am wanting more diversification and without coping, imitating and redoing then we would probably stay in place and do nothing.
