The most ironic thing if Ash meets Guzma is, If Ash had the ability to age and had some self-awareness of how he keeps on losing leagues and hasn't become a Pokemon Master yet, he would be the EXACT SAME OF HOW GUZMA IS!! A Bitter man who hasn't achieved his goals... The Anime can easily tie up Guzma with the League Plot and making him hate how Kukui is creating the league just like how he hates the trials in the games... This is also a good opportunity for them to expand on Ash's Character Development...

Here's a video that explains pretty well why she and Guzma took their sweet time to appear:

To basically summarize the video. The anime went with this pacing

1st Year - Their own version of the SM Games Story

2nd Year - USUM Anime Version Story

Start of the 3rd Year - LGPE Promotion

3rd Year - Team Skull Arc + Poni Island Arc + League

Team Skull's first attempt at preparing Alola's thanksgiving dinner looks good so far.

And hell freezes over as the Skull Stooges take out an Oricorio! :eek:
(unless Plumeria did it for them. Which is highly likely)

@martianmister
Now, pokémon teaching kids how to cook for their dinner by pokémon? That sound legit. Also, the location mark the appearance of seafolk village. If anyone didn't notice.
