BTW, the official site has a new poster that shows ash doing his "GET" pose holding a regular pokeball, and he's with his z-power ring, so it's not from any previous episode:
In fact that's not from any episode, past or future, judging by that background.

Anyways, I can see it getting oaked and not released, given he's appearing here and his interest in the species in the videos back when meltan was revealed

Isn’t that an Ultra wormhole in the background?

I have a feeling we are going to expect a capture in this episode. I mean, If one of Meltan is attached to Rowlet, Ash will probably catch it.

They're focusing on this one specific Meltan, so a capture is most likely happening.

So, Ash is going to catch Meltan and with the way things are looking the anime will likely have Meltan evolve into Melmetal by having all the Meltan combine for the evolution which means most likely Ash will release it at that point because reasons. Of course if they don't do this and instead find a way for a single Meltan to evolve into Melmetal without combining then there is a better chance of them letting Ash keep Melmetal.

So it seems Meltan can lose the hex nut, similar to Mimikyu losing its rag, and can be replaced by anything with a circular hole. That's an interesting aspect of its biology.

Using a Sirodethna as a replacement is a touch of genius.

Something interesting I've noticed about the VA list:

Up until the Poni arc (at least from what I've seen), Kiawe's Charizard and his voice actor were never featured in the cast list. Never. Not even when Charizard had more than a cameo in the episode. Not even when he was partially focused on, like in the PokéResort episode. But now, ever since the Poni arc, he seems to be displayed on the cast list alongside the rest of the group's Pokémon. At first I thought it was because of his voice change the 1st time and because he was basically the main character the 2nd one. But, no, this cast list shows that they're still doing it when he appears in an episode. Hopefully this points to him getting a little bit more focus, since he barely has any kind of personality. Though the writers better not pull an Alain and have him overshadow the wonderful duo that is Turtonator/Marowak!
