Potential News Dates (Comments May Contain Spoilers!)

September 2016's Corocoro was Midnight and Midday Lycanroc, Pheromosa, Buzzwole, Type: Null, and the Sun and Moon anime. There is still a chance we could see Sizzile, Raboot, and Grookey's evolution this month though.
I don't know...the problem is that we have so few new pokemon revealed that I find it hard to believe they choosed to reveal the starters evolution before the regional bug. We still have some types with no new pokemon revealed at all...

Has the news cycle ever been this weird in the past? I mean this could be a good thing or ... i'm just kinda nervous about the amount of new pokemon tbh.
It does worry me also. This news cycle has been a lot slower than X and Y and Sun and Moon's. The fact that we've only seen like 17 new Pokemon after 6 months does kinda worry me that there's even less new Pokemon than X and Y had to offer.

I didn't pay close attention to x and y but for sun and moon looking back i thought that maybe they were really trying to sell it by releasing a bunch of trailers to get hype up because the region was small and there weren't that many new pokemon. but then again I don't really pay attention to ultra beasts and they technically do count i suppose.

Honestly I thought they decided to cut the national pokedex so they could introduce more new pokemon in next gens. I mean, considering that they have to focus on 500 pokemon instead of 1000, they can introduce more new ones without people going mad after 2000 mons, right?

The low amount of information may also be deliberate on GameFreak's part, in response to criticism that SM revealed too much pre-release.

But I also wonder if it is to keep the dexit people down to avoid a negative viewpoint of these games. I mean like every post still have tons of comments about that topic.

Damn, so we didn't get an announcement today (Monday) that there will be a trailer for Wednesday, like for the 1st week of last month.

However, in the USA, today is a holiday, so maybe could be delayed a day.

Wouldn't it be better to show off a lot of new features? Not showing much about a game doesn't leave people with a better opinion of the dex cut.

I remember people being upset about the amount of info SM revealed pre release so I think that GF wanted to please those people.
Not only that, but revealing less means that hype won't totally deflate on release day when people realize that there's almost nothing left to discover in the games. As a company, I'd imagine that they'd want the biggest hype to happen during the purchase period of their product, not before. They must have realized that the biggest draw to games is the exploration and discovery.

By the day of release, everything will be out. Did you forget there's guides with a Pokedex? Those come out on the same day as release, and people will make all that info available online probably the same day.

If people don't want to know everything on release day, the only way is not have a weak will.

Following the marketing release is important to some, expecially when they want to know some of the features of the games, and not just the new Pokémon. Guides are a bit different.

I do get the fear of having a small number of new Pokémon based on release, but that can be avoided by GF simply stating how many there are, without actually spoiling them.

Let's also say that this new marketing campaign is not really helping the games. I don't remember the last time the hype was so low after a couple of days from a trailer. Around the 10th of the month people have already stopped discussing about the games. Just look at this forum, the amount of daily replies has been really low in the last 20 days and we are two and a half months from release...I don't know how to explain it, It's like everything that is announced has not that many things to be analysed or discovered. We just receive some informations and then we wait for the next bunch. Maybe It's because for me everything about gen 8 feels already seen/used in the past...Gyms are old gyms but bigger, new pokemon are new pokemon, galar forms are just alola forms, regional evolutions are new cross gen evolutions, Dynamax and Gigantamax are just bigger megas/z-moves etc..Even if we know basically nothing, It's like we already know everything about the new features.

That, and dataminers. The first thing people will do once the game drops will be to see the internal data. I'm nervous but extremely curious about that.

So?
they need to market the new gen even more, especially when it's the biggest switch game this year
I have to agree with that (well, Mario Maker 2 is also huge, possibly even bigger, but it was a summer release). Nintendo knows they dont I have too much on the table for big releases this Holiday season, so I could see them wanting to put some SwSh news in this month. I can't see them doing any major reveals though.
