As I'm sure all who have played the game know, only a handful of Pokemon can evolve and gain unique Sync Moves while the others are stuck with generic ones. This is in spite of the fact that six of the twelve trainers can be fought with fully-evolved partners and datamining has revealed that all of them will be able to evolve sometime in the future. So until that fateful day comes, I'd like to discuss how you guys think these evolutions will be implemented in the game.

Did you mean to link to my post? Here are the current Sync Pairs with missing evolutions:

Roxie & Whirlipede/Scolipede
Clay & Palpitoad/Seismitoad
Lt. Surge & Voltorb/Electrode
Ramos & Weepinbell/Victreebel
Roark & Cranidos/Rampardos
Brawly & Makuhita/Hariyama
Roxanne & Nosepass/Probopass
Phoebe & Dusclops/Dusknoir
Maylene & Meditite/Medicham
Grant & Amaura/Aurorus
Blaine & Ponyta/Rapidash

The following are unobtainable altogether:

Lyra & Chikorita/Bayleef/Meganium
Calem & Espurr/Meowstic (Male)
Hilda & Tepig/Pignite/Emboar
Hilbert & Oshawott/Dewott/Samurott

Oooh I didn't know some were datamined, man I'm so glad that Whirlipede, Weepinbell, Cranidos and Meditite are meant to evolve. Those are all fav sync pairs of mine so blessss.

No clue why those evolutions aren't just in the game already, maybe they didn't want to present too many options at a time since the evolution recources are still quite limited. But I can imagine that a lot of people that aren't up to date with this game are confused why some mons can evolve and others can't.

I'm just gonna assume they will just release those evos a few at a time with future updates, don't really think they'll stick an event to it or something.

Thank you. And since Lyra and Hilbert are coming out soon, we’re going to at least get Chikorita’s evolutions as well.

To offer my two cents, I believe they will start with the trainers who can be fought in the training area and then go from there.

They’ve just announced the Rock-Type training event, so if there was a good opportunity to throw in the evolutions for Amaura, Nosepass, and Cranidos, it would be that.
