I doubt Gengar would let this chance slip, though.

I think it'll actually try helping out with the food issue. I remember it giving a bunch of apples to Ash after he caught it to help him get better. so it's a lot sweeter than it lets on. With it's intangibility and invisibility, it'll be a great scout to help finding the culprit.

I still want the Rockets for this one but from the summary I could see them not appearing.

I hope they do some mecha references with Golurk. I love it when the animators do that (Sun & Moon had some good ones), especially since there isn't much mecha anime being made right now outside of Gundam.

If Team Rocket only appears to get blasted off promptly to move the plot ahead then I'd rather they not appear at all, especially not after the horrible way they were used in the last episode.

I think they could get some good antics out of this scenario though.

I want to see a mecha fight with Golurk.

It is though. It's set in the Kanto region, more specifically the Sakuragi Institute of which we've seen far too much of already.
To be fair, it seems like the main focus will be Sakuragi Park and the Pokemon that live there, which we don't see in the anime quite often (at least, not as often as the main institute itself). Considering the wide variety of Pokemon that live there, I don't think Kanto pandering will be a noticeable issue in this episode. Synopsis already shows that Cascoon and Golurk will have major roles in this episode, and the culprit of the stolen food is all but confirmed to be Morpeko, so I doubt that Gou's Kanto Pokemon will be hogging the spotlight too much.

Were some people still complaining about Kanto being the setting here? Imo this episode's plot wouldn't work if it was set anywhere else since Go obviously can't take all his reserve Pokemon with him somewhere else and those Pokemon fighting against each other because they're hungry is kinda the whole point.

I mean I'm sick of Kanto as much as the next person but the setting here is completely justified tbh.
