Admittedly, the conversation in question was about this time last month, but, at the time, he said that January was when things were most likely going to start picking up again for him.
The general gist of the matter is, his laptop has been broken for some time, and he needs a job to cover general living expenses, anyway, so, once he has a job, he'll have the money to repair his laptop. Now that the end-of-year festivities are out of the way, he can re-focus on doing that, and, in his words, repairing his laptop will, most likely, be the first thing his first pay-cheque will go to, and the repairs themselves would only take about a week, so...
(Oh, and scratch what I said about the parents not being quite so risqué; one round of Word Spud saw the three of us generate a string of insults, culminating in referring to Loreen as a "Swedish whorebag-ladyboy". Their words (mostly), not mine.)
Lovely. I intend to introduce th'parents to it, too, this evening (although I doubt the resulting strings of words will turn out quite so risqué with them playing).
Perhaps, at some point, I'll host a game in which Lively Planeteers and th'parents take part. Doubtful, but not impossible.
