I'm sure I'll have quite the time pitching it to my classmates when it comes to picking which games get taken forward into next semester's assignment, though. I think I explained already-- we all produce a proposal-document, then get into groups of 4 or so, and the next assignment involves choosing one proposal, and making it a full-blown games-design document.
On one hand, I think at least two of my friends don't trust their own ideas enough, but, on the other...
"Okay, so, it's like Zelda, but also not. Also, it's like Sonic, but not. And Freedom Planet. And a bit of Dynasty Warriors. Also, the main characters are a strong, independent woman, her sassy, gay best friend, and an antagonist who's stuck in the friendzone. Or nah?"
I want them to, and I don't know what to think. Chances are, it's just a series of happy coincidences (what with the redesigns, the concept art, et cetera)...but there's a very real chance it might not be.
And I don't know which scenario makes them more likely to keep making such references.
Honestly, though, I'm quite tempted to steal the design for another, upcoming character, who's set to make his first appearance in PiC. There's something about the outfit that I just...like.
1) Xelda's new Skype-name reminded me of this.
2) I saw this on Facebook, and, despite (or, perhaps, particularly because of) our canon, I find it very much jävla adorable.
3) I did a bit more research into that one piece of Sonic Boom concept art. They did use designs similar to that to depict the Ancients in some Boom-related media, but my Boom!Midnight theory holds, since the guy in the picture is unquestionably blue, yet has vulpine features (and is described as "like a hedgehog", so he can't be an actual hedgehog, if my seven years of studying English and five of analysing Latin have taught me anything about pragmatics).
All I know for certain is, with the money I expect to receive, I'll feel a little less guilty about a post-Xmas flag-buying-spree.
Realistically, I have enough leftover food-money to do that whenever I want (by a long shot, not that th'parents realise that), but my conscience won't allow for it.
Th'parents made me open a card from th'aunt, which contained £10 (although the note had £600 written on it, which perplexed us for a moment). Everything else shall wait until the morning, although I already know that my stuff includes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, as well as the deluxe-special-edition-thingy-version of Bentley Jones' latest album.
