Example: Midnight was one of the partner characters, so who would be the main protagonist? Originally, it was going to be Sonic. I mean, to an extent, that still makes sense, considering the equivalent of Star Spirits/Crystal Stars/Pure Hearts/Royal Stickers were going to be-- no prizes for guessing correctly-- Chaos Emeralds. Even so, though...
Well, for a start, I'd want to implement it in just the same way as you want to implement the fighting game. Of course, being as the notes are quite old, the whole thing is full of holes, and would take significant work and artistic licence to make it compatible with TEE canon.
...I want to talk about something sensible and intellectual as the topic of an in-depth, two-sided conversation or discussion, but I can't think of anything.
...But that does throw up a bunch of questions. Like, chiefly, how can Midnight have survived in Wes' world, and vice-versa, if the two follow different laws of physics? Do their native physicses just naturally intergrate, or does one's bodily physics suddenly start conforming to that of the destination world? WHO EVEN CARES ABOUT THIS CONFUSING SH*T?! I SHOULDN'T BUT I DO! BWAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!
Huh. Well, because of their existence, the Periodic Table looks a fair bit different in the Neptuniverse and Poseidon-verse. They're also part of the reason that technology in those worlds is so advanced and durable.
...Of course, if you get right into chemistry at an atomic level, as far as this world's physics go, it's not physically possible to have more elements without stacking them on the end of the current Periodic Table. It therefore follows that the Neptuniverse and Poseidon-verse actually follow different laws of physics that just happen to behave in the same way as in the other universes. This is what allows for Chaos Control, and how one can stop time completely without physical or temporal consequence. It also allows for other types of magic, but let's not get into that.
Ah, but speaking of chemistry, did I ever mention the presence of chemical elements native to the Neptuniverse (and therefore Poseidon-verse) that one cannot find elsewhere?
