  • Indeed. Like I said, Poseidon Blazia is not a nice place to live unless you're every kind of bad word ending in '-ist'. Like racist. Or fascist. Or, uh...gayist?
...I'll just give you the full premise, since A-vs.-S is more or less voorbij.

So Dave is at a bar in the Poseidon Palace Town, along with Lizzie (Les' OSC) and Kate (Rob's OSC, whose name is a reference to Blackadder), both of whom I control, for an evening of social drinking, as one does. They notice Middy is also present, and proceed to, despite being his siblings, harass him for his lifestyle choice. It starts with simple verbal abuse, but then Dave strikes Middy across the head with an empty beer bottle. Cue Knuxie stepping in to defend Middy, having been seated nearby and having witnessed the whole thing.

A fight ensues, which ends when an ambulance finally arrives for Middy, which Knuxie uses as an excuse to escape. And so they meet for the first time.
I'd have thought it'd be part of the premise, really, so I guess that means you decide.
(The majority of that postcard would, of course, be recycled and re-jigged to be Blazia's postcard in the MSC2009. Funnily enough-- and not that you care-- Blazia's song from 2009 was, in fact, also Azerbaijan's. Such fun indeed.)

Also yay for quirky pipe music and randomly heavy bass, all contained in a pop-up book of Azerbaijan.
They could have done a lot worse. I do wonder how they're going to turn that into what-we-call postcards*, though.

*Postcards, of course, being ESC-speak for the little VTs shown before each country performs. It usually incorporates something pertaining to the country about to perform, something pertaining to the host country, and the performing country's flag, as well as that year's theme art. And after Baku 2012 and Düsseldorf 2011, Sweden have got some big boots to fill...not that it matters to you.
...Did I mention they finally revealed the visual identity for ESC2013?

    It's a fecking butterfly.
...But just to be contrary, I actually kinda like it.
