  • Indeed.

...When you said we're going to take a break from ATEE, how long did you mean?
...I've just discovered that chocolate and toothpaste do not, despite logic, make mint-chocolate.
:-| Well, at least A) my prediction was accurate and B) you're honest.

    Any specific criticisms?
I assure you, it's most likely to be better, in your opinion, than MoL.

I am, of course, assuming you did not think much of MoL.
All that matters for the moment is that Team Gemini are on vacation-- or, at least, taking a break from their daily lives-- at a lakeside resort on, wouldn't you know it, Ayres Island. The basis of the resort is simply a lake surrounded by medium-density forest, with cabins scattered around for accomodation.

The overall plot combines my usual sort of ATEE ideas with the Robert Browning poem Porphyria's Lover, the novel Hypothermia (by Arnaldur Indriðason) and, obviously, aspects of the Dirk Gently series. Also, the title comes from the unpublished third book in the DG series (the remnants of which were later published as part of a thing in memory of its late author, Douglas Adams).
Okay. I needed some time to plan most of the rest of it, anyway. I have enough for the first part, but not too much. You're aware of the premise, aren't you?

...Also, expect somewhat of a character overhaul on Harman and Theodore. The former has gained something in the way of being a Large Ham, and the latter to be somewhat bored of the former's antics, but sticking by him nonetheless. Compare them to the characters from the series that TSoD is based on-- specifically, a combination of the book version and the TV version of Dirk Gently for Harman, and the TV version of Richard MacDuff for Theodore.
(See here for information about the first book, and here for information on the TV series. tl;dr it's an eccentric detective who's almost always right, despite how unbelievably unlikely his theories are.)
