  • Paradise Oskar for Finland, in 2011; came 21st in the Grand Final with 57 points after having placed 3rd in the first of two semi-finals (since, as of 2008, there have been two semi-finals rather than just the one big one) with 103 points.

    Not even kidding.
Indeed. And-- again, you probably won't care, but still-- upon discovering Italy's return to the contest in 2011, much joy was had in the Craig household.
Indeed. And as if you cared, none of those songs participated in semi-finals, but all for different reasons.
1997-- there were no semi-finals to speak of
2006-- Romania had placed within the top 10 of the Grand Final the previous year, which, up until 2008 when the rule was abolished, granted them an automatic berth in the Final
2011-- Italy returned to the contest as a member of the Big Five (joining what had been the Big Four-- the UK, France, Germany and Spain), all of whom get automatic spots in the Final every year, as they are the five biggest financial contributors to the contest.
Italy didn't participate in 2006, but there was a song in Italian in the contest that year-- Romania, with Tornerò (I Will Return), performed by Mihai Trăistariu. It came fourth with 172 points. Italy's last participation before that was in 1997 (Jalisse's Fiumi di Parole, or Rivers Of Words in English), where they came 4th with 114 points, and the time after that was 2011 (Raphael Gualazzi's Madness of Love); 2nd place, 189 points.
Vječnij Stranjik (meaning Eternal Wanderer); performed by Youddiph; came 9th with 70 points in the Grand Final (as there were no semi-finals per se until 2004).
Again, if I did, I'd be a hypocrite. Go right ahead; all it takes is a European country and a year between 1956 and 2012 inclusive and I can prove it to you.
(Well, I say 'new'...They've been my friends as of September, what with me moving house and all.) Yes, though, really. Until I realised they were fans, I didn't even know she existed. ...You know what I mean.
...Well, I was basing my idea on what Izzy gave us.

Speaking of Miku, you would not believe how popular she is amongst my new circle of friends.
    HM I SEE.
I don't see Team Triton (or, rather, the two of them that remain, since Jonah's pretty much what we ESC-fanatics call a confirmed withdrawal) getting too much of an overhaul. Perhaps a minor redesign of their usual outfits, but nothing major. Regina, I can imagine dressing a little more like a combination of ATEE1 Megan and Tanya, and as for Octavia, perhaps a paradoxical mix of something more frivolous and something more sober, like her mother.
Neither do I, but I could suggest Jake arriving and taking a moment to realise he's somewhere he shouldn't be. Then cue The Guys, then it'll go like BrA-x-M did.
If you want to know just how ridiculous the work I'm doing right now is, may I refer you to my Facebook status.
A metric craptonne of homework. I've got one more thing to do that should take between 15 and 20 minutes, but I'm'a take a break before I start that.

    Also thanks for caring.
And thank you, assuming you tolerate my passionate rants about localisation and my incessant but well-thought-through whitterings about the ESC and MSC.
