Well, the information they give in each Pokémon game from D/P onwards is that your FC represents which cartridge you use in which console, and which internet access point. If any one of those three variables change, your FC gets re-randomised.
The point is, a lot of modern music from the English-speaking western world sucks. Also Loreen. She is equally terrible. Her music is bad and she should feel bad.
Keep trying with the codes, anyway. And here's an idea: to save time, you can get to registering my codes in your...whatever-it's-called...You know, the thing where you store other people's FCs...
I think it's unique to the Pokémon games. Either that, or just any game that uses Friend Codes apart from the consoles themselves (that is, Wiis and 3DSs).
I think 3DSs can support more types of connection, but as for any model of regular DS, I'm not so sure. But regardless: your FC changes depending on what you connect to the internet via. If you use connection A to get your codes, then log in using connection B, your FCs will change. If you use connection A again thereafter, your codes will change again, to yet another different combination.
