    And I've been meaning to vent that for quite some time. In a way, both of the commonly-held theories are right. One has the 'L IS REAL' part right, and the other has 'STAR' right, but neither are completely right, therefore they're both wrong. YAY TG LOGIC.
    Yeah. It quite clearly says 'L IS REAL STAR OF MARIO 64'. I don't know where people are getting this 'ETERNAL STAR' / 'L IS REAL 2401' crap from.

    ...And given that the texture of the plaque is either recycled from or recycled to a sign in Dodongo's Cavern in TLoZ: OoT, 'L' could just as easily refer to Link as it could Luigi, though it would make more sense for it to refer to Luigi, given that the only ties Link has to the Mario world are the reused Mario enemies in some of the Zelda games, and his cameo in Super Mario RPG...

    Perhaps, then, it'd be a bad idea for me to distract you from thinking about it, but seriously- why do people make so much fuss about that plaque on the star statue in Super Mario 64? It's not that hard to read.
