  • -Oh, okay. Because I was genuinely going to have TT claim to be a potato. Derp.
    -OH OKAYZ.

And the exact quote, I believe, runs thusly:

    ----------
GLaDOS: Ohai. So...How are you holding up?
    *beat*
    GLaDOS: Because I'm a potato.
    ----------
...Wait, is the part about being a potato part of TT's reaction? And by 'with the gem hanging from its forehead', does that mean 'said via the gem', or 'said while in a position in which the gem hangs from its forehead'?
(Oh, and I found a list of Core quotes.)
So I heard. And one of GLaDOS' cores from Portal actually lists some of the ingredients of said cake (perhaps with some extraneous stuff, too). Yay, cores.

Oh, and what is TT's reaction in TLD?
That would support the wording of the meme, I guess. The two Portal games look like fun, but I have no plans to obtain them via any means.
    Oh, well. You know now.

And since I've just finished brb'ing for cake, a thought has occurred to me: I always thought that the 'the cake is a lie' meme originated from Super Mario 64, but I recently watched an LP of Portal and Portal 2...Did it come from that, instead, or did SM64's fictitious cake inspire Portal's?
I'm laying off my requests for the time being, since Izzy's working on two larger pieces for me- Wes, Jade, Midnight and Miles in their parade outfits from IYF/FFTB, and Midnight, Inferno Midnight, Corsair and Middy dressed as the four Links from the Four Swords games (Midnight in the green tunic, Inferno Midnight in the red one, Corsair in the blue one and Middy, predictably, in the pink/purple one).
There seems to be a lot of skipping going on, but okay. Thinking about it, you'd need to be the one to initiate this skip.
Did I mention that, whenever you say 'Y YUSH', my brain, despite knowing exactly what you mean, insists on pronouncing it
    'EE YUSH'?
    YARLY.

Done re-reading SF now. And once again, I had to  at how, during their encounter with Chayce, all Jake can manage to say before being knocked down by a Chaos Spear is "I'm not rubbing--!"
That was almost too clever for me.

I brb for food now, but for when I return: moar TLD direction needed.
Also, something I overlooked when we wrote SF:

    ----------
He didn't respond. Jake grabbed onto Megan's ankles as they flew off to the next island…
    ***
""Well, here we are!" Travis said as they touched down.
    ----------
This time around, I saw what you did there.
And he does a video-blog which always ends with a picture of a panda sitting at a computer, accompanied by a jingle, followed by him saying 'so cute!'. So that's the origin of that.
    *le sigh*

McSwagger, also known as Benatar, both of which are stage names of Jesse Cale, who is both a solo singer-songwriter and guitarist, keytarist, pianist and bassist of Ray William Johnson's YouTube 'band' Your Favorite Martian, as referenced as Soleanna's act in Rockefeller Street.

Seriously, though, Cale's solo work is some kind of epic.
I suppose it doesn't not make sense; when Wes spotted Midnight in ToK, the latter was crouched down and hidden by a shroud, so it would be impossible to tell his age just from his face. Yay, stuff worked itself out.

    Further TLD direction pls.
