I love how they keep finding more stupid ways to ensure Ash doesn't become League Champion. The whole Darkrai/Latios thing was a bit of a joke, and they put some of Ash's less capable Pokemon against it. I mean, you have Infernape, Charizard, Snorlax, a Torterra who should be better, and you put out Gible, Torkoral and Swellow? URGH, still frustrating! Just let him win the battle and then lose to the Champion - its not rocket science.
If it was metallic I think that would make more sense, I guess. I have never viewed it as metallic, but I don't know enough about the combinations of geology and biology to know how that would work
The Horn logic is very, very loose though. I don't think everything that is pointy and sticks out is automatically a lightning conductor I think Diamond/Pearl did a decent job of incorporating the villains into the plot. It could have been better, yes, but it worked fairly well. And I do quite like how they featured old Ash Pokemon during the league and had the big battle with Paul, even if his Drapion was grossly overpowered and Torterra became pathetic as a result. They did such a good job of giving plot to the Pokemon in that series, IMO, but they butchered Grotle's whole speed storyline in favour of the Chimchar thing.
They got a lot better with Ground in Sinnoh but even then it wasn't that consistent. If it was convenient to forget about it, then they just would.
And I was originally annoyed that Ash rebattled a lot, but I guess it is fair since he was a new trainer so having a few rebattles was alright. But a lot of the battles were based on using terrible moves that would be much more effective or ineffective that they are meant to be.
I havent watched Johto for years so I am unfamiliar with that one And it was mostly just that Ash won all the battles he did something you cant do (ie electrocute Onix) or won for doing something else. He only actually properly battled about two battles.
I was joking, of course Next time don't so quickly jump to your story JK
