I think I have seen War of the Worlds like 3 times, but ONLY because I really like the effects, it has some pretty cool scenes, I just skip the hoorable parts that make up 90% of the movie.
You know, Tom Cruise is SOOOO POINTLESS in WotW. He is just some random average guy who witnesses the aliens coming out of the Earth and then he flees with his family, HE DOES NOTHING BUT FLEEING and staying out of the claws of the aliens, and then at the end he suddenly has a random idea that kills the aliens, JUST WOW, what a great story.
WELL, that's a tough one. I mean Inception was just IMPOSSIBLE TO FOLLOW, but well it had good actors and a good score, so War of the Worlds is worse man.
UGGHH why did War of the Worlds have to be so bad? It has good effects but that's about it. The story is CRAP, the protagonists are soooo MEHHH especially Tom Cruise, whose role is just UTTERLY POINTLESS, and Justin Crapwin and Dakota "I have to scream and cry all the time" Fanning make this movie VERY HARD TO SIT THROUGH man.
The first three Alien movies were directed by three TOP DIRECTORS, Ridley Scott, James Cameron and David Fincher, but Fincher couldn't pull it off unfortunately.
