He is unbearable as Professor Oak-- the guy sounds like a mad scientist in a laboratory conducting evil experiments, and it reeks of "young man putting on an old man" voice. I'm sorry, but that's what he sounds like as Professor Oak-- I'm not going to sugarcoat the facts of the matter.
Terrible episode, and mainly because of that JERK TeddiUrsa in the episode. If you like how cute TeddiUrsa is, I recommend it, but I judge things based off character and not appearance myself.
That being said, I fully agree with Masato in that I like the Pokemon Chronicles TeddiUrsa.
If you have a weak spot for adorable Pokemon, then watch UnBEARable. Teddiursa may be a jerk, but it's so darn cute. The Teddiursa in Pokemon Chronicles is even cuter though and is actually a nice Pokemon.
Me too, man: I'm really torn between him and Ted Lewis for Giovanni...I really am: standout performance from the English dub of The Origin on his part.
I'd have to agree with you-- he did a surprisingly good job with that role. It WAS nasally, but fit the characters' cocky and "I'm better than you" attitude very nicely.
That being said, Lucien Dodge is definitely his equal-- just as great, IMO.
Notice how that was an old man, and he actually sounded GOOD, unlike his Professor Oak. Also notice how that was a voice in the 4Kids dub, and not in the TPCi dub.
