  • Kyle Hebert needs to be the new English dub Professor Oak, and Johnny Yong Bosch needs to be the new English dub Brock.

    Definitely, man. Me too, bro.
A transvestite who smokes, but close enough.

"Carter as Professor Oak Sounds like a Mad Scientist who has been in a Basement for Several Weeks"

    ^Exactly, man.^
Agreed with all of that! Me too, bro.

Anyway, the real decline of the anime itself began in the middle of Johto. As people have said, fillers became more rampant (though unlike DP fillers, these are superior in that there are still morals and lessons put in them for kids to learn from), and episodes began to become repetitive, stale, formulaic, and dry.

From there, the anime went uphill again in the last season of Johto. There was more ingenuity that began to return, and the plot got a lot more solid, characters' goals felt like they were becoming accomplished somewhat.

Went slightly downhill in Hoenn, but still better than middle of Johto. Same thing I said about Season 5 of Johto applies nicely here, but this saga starts the TERRIBLE trend of replacing characters CONSTANTLY that are not Ash or Rocket, like Misty, which is why a drop occurs here overall.

After Hoenn is when it begins to go completely downhill, and is worse than the middle of Johto. With Battle Frontier, characters begin to become stale, battles take more focus over characterizations, making chars feel more stiff and less relatable. Morals begin to disappear, and mindless violence prevails.

Then, in Sinnoh, we have the penultimate drop in the anime. Now, not only are the characters completely a shell of their former selves, but many of them change completely and lose their once established personalities. Only good thing that occurs is maturation of Ash, while Brock is shafted/sidelined, TRio begin to become jokes, and Wobbuffet pops up for the hell of it. Dawn is good as a co-star, but that's it.

Unova is a step up over the Sinnoh Saga, but still doesn't match Kanto, Johto, or Hoenn.

Kalos regresses back again, and is as bad as, or worse, than the Sinnoh Saga. Once again, Ash and another new char, Clemont, are the only good things about this saga.
His James is getting better in later Da! and XY eps, but he's so damn inconsistent. One minute the head cold voice will return, and then it'll be a good fusion of Ted and Eric's, then back to head cold.

His Meowth just keeps getting worse with each arc...I'm not sure what to say other than guy needs to be replaced ASAP: don't care how or when, either.
    True: agreed, man.

Now, that's just when I feel the English dub of the Anime went downhill for me.

I'll explain when I think the Anime itself went downhill for me in a bit.
And she's annoying as hell as Jessie in Da! and XY again!

I know, man: when she yelled, OMG...like an angry girlfriend who's throwing a temper tantrum.
Dude, that's pretty much all he did most of the time in DP. And the flirting scenes...my god...Brock's English voice there makes my ears bleed now.

It is bad now: it's been bad since DP, IMO. BW was an improvement over DP, but not OS or AG. XY is just as bad, if not worse, than DP so far.

Yeah: they voiced a LOT of people during Johto.
